If they throw in a #1 pick I will do that

I meant to put that in. Let me edit it.

Curry/Francis for Webber and a pick works for a lot of reasons IMO. For the 76rs they put Curry in a position to succeed. Dalembert is the bigtime rebounder/help defender you need to have next to Curry for him to be effective. With Iverson's penetrations there's going to be a lot of offensive boards also. Plus, Dalembert isnt a post player so Eddie can live there as long as he wants. Taking Francis has its risks for them, hard to argue that.

For us Webber gives us a real passer on a team that doesnt have many. He's a high post player so Frye can move to his natural position and get more touches on the block. Webber is an excellent rebounder (still) and a heady defender. It would also open a starting spot for Balkman or Nate

Change for the sake of change is not good.

Dalemert looks good from afar.

Curry after Shaq still may be the best offensive big man in the east.

If Philly wanted to move Iverson (to another team say) and wanted francis I can see that happening and we take webber.

Exactly. That's how we got into this mess in the first place.

to me a Webber trade isnt that at all.
1) we could move closer to financial sense by moving a long term contract like Curry
2) we get a skilled player at a position of need
3) addition by subtraction. Francis's minutes go to Nate, Q, Balkman who are all playing better than Steve
4) we move Frye to his natural center position
5) Webber is still one of the best passing bigs in the NBA
6) This trade makes us better right now in a year we dont have our first rounder

I would do it EVEN if we didnt get a pick back, just to rid myself of two guys that dont give 100% and are keeping better players on the bench.

According to realgm.com, a straight up trade for Dinglebury and Webber works. I would make this trade with Philly if they add a protected 1st round pick to go with Webber. Teams can now dictate to Philly since Webber has made it public that he wants to be traded. I would then negotiate a buyout for Webber. This would be just a trade for Dinglebury and a 1st round pick.

Blubbury and Iverson has history together and they seem to play well together.

Why would Philly want Francis? Francis and Iverson makes even less sense than Marbury/Francis.

I think Steve/Curry for Webber is a great trade for us... Just dont know how great it is for Philly.. They would prob want Jamal/Curry and i would be a little hesatent to do that one... i'd have to get their unprotected pick this year also

Philadelphia Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Chris Webber
6-10 PF from Michigan
20.2 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 3.4 apg in 38.6 minutes
Kevin Ollie
6-2 PG from Connecticut
2.7 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 15.3 minutes
Louis Williams
6-2 PG from South Gwinnett (HS)
1.9 ppg, 0.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 5.0 minutes
Incoming
Eddy Curry
6-11 C from Thornwood (HS)
13.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 0.3 apg in 25.9 minutes
Mardy Collins
6-6 from Temple
No games yet played in 2005/06
Steve Francis
6-3 PG from Maryland
14.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.9 apg in 34.2 minutes

There is a chance they might consider this, because we are taking back Ollies salary and we do give them a center, but Isiah being one of the worst GMS in the league believes Curry can be a monster......I would rather have French Frye at center........

Then the sixers can seriously think about trading Iverson, because they are going no where, Billy King is Isiah Thomas's brother so they are equally paired for making terrible deals, they mirror each other.....

Even without trading AI i think they are better off

Curry
Sammy
Iggy
AI
Francis/Collins

Its not terrible

Jamaal/Curry done where do I sign get that losing combination out of the garden and make it someone elses problem.....they are a turnover prone pair 6 between them when they play big minutes, if they develop into stars which they won't ohh well

Webber/Snacks
Lee/Frye
Jefferies/Balkman
Q/Nate
Marbury/Francis

Again where do I sign into the second round of the playoffs..........

Your better off getting rid of those players, watch the games like an intelligent human being and you will see Crawford is terrible for a team trying to win......

folks want Webber here for his expiring contract not his defensive prowess. Let's move along from that idea.

he's better than Frye there. He's a better rebounder also. Webber at PF and Frye at C is 10x better defensivly and rebounding wise as Frye/Curry at PF/C

Webber is NOT a better defender than Frye, WATCH a sixer game this season and then say that hes a better defender. If Frye is stiff and unathletic than Webber is a corpse. He looks glued to the floor.

the only reason to trade for CWebb should be to set up to make a run at Lebron or D Wade in 2 years... this team is not doing much of anything this year or next anyway... the downgrade in defense or whatever else is immaterial to this conversation... it's entirely about cap flexibility after 2008.
