Critique based on his personality or what he says is foolish. When the guy is playing his game and has help, he's an asset to the team. I remind you that NO PLAYER wins by himself. Now that we have a TEAM and they are playing more like one, we'll start to see the TEAM win games.

Steph's presence here serves a big purpose. He's not getting in the way at this point. He's letting these young players shine, while taking the brunt of the criticism from the fans and the press. He's in effect shielding them from the negative aspects of their games. While he's here to be a scapegoat, the press isn't focusing on the weaknesses of the other players games as much. They have Steph to pick at. This is a good thing. They can develop with less pressure than if they had to carry the team themselves and expose their game to more scrutiny. This is the best option at this point. Let Steph and Francis start it off and take more of the heat, while the young guys still get plenty of burn and experience.

I actually like Steph. I think he's more misunderstood than anything else. I want to see him succeed here in his final years and help this team win. I think he's best suited to start for this team cuz when he's playing at his best none of our other guards is better at running the team. Especially now since he's taken his game in this direction. He has only to find a good balance which I believe he's starting to achieve.

Do we hate Marbury? We don't know Marbury. We know an image that we see on television and we respond to that image. What we hate or don't hate is not the man but the image of the man.

Some people "hate" Marbury, sure. But others "love" Marbury. I theorize that the Marbury meter goes something like this (I'll use "like" and "dislike" instead of "love" and "hate"):

Like Marbury = identify with Marbury and his game
Exasperated by Marbury = Like sometimes, dislike sometimes
Dislike Marbury = Alienated from Marbury and his game

There would certainly be gradiations in the exasperated zone. This is where I am. Sometimes Marbury seems to get it and seems to be doing what I think are the right things to make his team better. Then like him. But he doesn't always do those things so I get exasperated and I dislike him. After witnessing this back and forth a few times I'm guessing that someone in the exapserated zone winds up in the dislike zone, but that is just a theory.

I dont think that Crawford or Nate can run the point any better than Marbury. Crawford shows flashes of good distribution but I remember him butchering it as the point the last few years with ny/chicago. Jamal is a SG. Nate as the PG? You know that aint happening. Nates strength is scoring, not ball distribution. And whats his a/to ratio this year? 9/13 or something?

I'm not asking you who you think is a better PG... i'm asking you if you think the team is better when Marbury is running the point or when 1 of those guys are.

Judging from the first 9 games, id say that except for 2-3 games I would be better running the point. But if Marbury is playing average ball, playing the way he played yesterday, id rather have Marbury running the point than anybody on our team.

I agree with this with one caveat. You need a guy whose attitude wil render Marbury's attitude secondary.

I dont hate him or any pro athlete. I do not like what I see of him though. I wanted him here for years and I became disgusted with his words and actions pretty fast.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Before Marbury was a Knick and I didn't get to see him play every game, he was one of my favorite players in the league. NYC and brash and street game personified. He'd take it to the hole on anyone, no matter the size. He still drives to the hole well, but guess what? He doesn't do much else well. Gets assists but doesn't really pass that well. Bad defense. Doesn't shoot clutch foul shots well. I think you get the idea. Oh yeah, and what an attitude.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

I don't hate him and I appreciate what he's tried to do for kids. I just think we have to move him and let the already apparent chemistry among the 26 and under crew grow.

People hate on Marbury because they expect a lot from him. He is the face of the franchise so when the KNicks lose he is the biggest loser. Some people expect that he single handedly win the KNicks games. When he can't deliver a Win he is the one to blame as he is the face of the franchise and the main distributor of the ball.

So his ridiculous quotes, selfish ways, fights with teammates/coachs and sulking have nothing to do with people not seeing him as a very likeable guy?
People like nice people usually. He just doesnt come off as a very friendly person often

Noh man, what is hate? what is hate on the Starbury? I don't know the man, but I hate on the scowl. The beligerant facial of misplaced anger to compensate for the intelectual aboration of the inner child screaming for his colon to be exfoliated and the cleansing of the internal soul. Take the man our of Coney Island, but a Nathans famous is still stuck in his anus thus coligulaization of the hedanistic manifistation of childhood repression of the mind ghettofied his inner saction of urban plight.

Hundreds of years of trade, slavery, and sneakerdom wrapped up in nintendofication of the dwarted folicule represents the complex scowl shown outward, but the reduced self esteem pituitarily conjects a lack of intellect thus thugifies outward confidence to compensate the bipolar bear white world mixed in with the inner doberman . The resulting patois of conflicting salvations and economy class limozeans for the feet are forever haunting the sanctions of authoritarian devices.

I don't hate Marbury. I admire his physical talent and his ability to play the game of basketball but the guy has been a huge letdown as a Knick. I expected a completely different Marbury with this team because he came home and this was a place where he could change his game and his attitude towards the game. None of that has happened. Now we are saddled with a player that no one else wants because they've seen his tired act over and over again and we're stuck with him. It pains me to see my favorite team have problems and players like this and thats why I get so pissed off when it comes to Marbury.

Basically, Marbury is a colon exfoliation away from getting more lift on his jumper.

yelling at DLee to come to the ball when he shouldn't have thrown the pass in the first place.

Not dropping 30/10 yet this season (if we're gonna lose, be starbury once).

his previous teams get better when he leaves.

the tattoo on his neck

breaking the Jayson Williams leg ending his career and the nets championship chances

he was traded for kidd

missed that jumper against the spurs

he's a knick.
