If they were both making the same salary, who would you rather have: Francis or Ariza?

Sounds like an idea for a new thread.

Ariza's one guy I wish we still had. He's better than half of our kids.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

K-mart wasn't available unless we were to give up Frye, Lee, or something like that.

oohah

that's pure speculation, and with his health, contract and the relationship between Mart and Karl I kinda doubt it.

But I agree with you that we could have done a lot better than Rose and Francis had Isiah been willing to give up more than Ariza and expirings.

And let us rememeber that even this summer, with Larry GONE, ISIAH was rumored to be pursuing Webber and K-Mart. So if we want to base this all on reported rumors, as we seem to do, we see that reports of pursuing bad-kneed PFs follow Isiah more than Brown.

like you said....ALL SPECULATION

but anyway......3 steals and 3 T/O. What's so impressive about that? All he did was zero out his T/O.

I don't recall anyone saying that about Balkman the last FEW days.

no one said he sucks, he would have been there at 29, I'm sure most people respect the hustle in his game, however this team sucks passing the ball and marcus would have really helped. And if you see, which i am shocked why isiah didn't until know that everytime Balkman and Lee play together good things happen.

Balkman is going to be a master at getting easy scores he just needs people to find him; and when lee crashes the boards, balkman can get to the glass easier.

Maybe Balkman would have been there at 29 but he looks like a fine #20 pick to me. The kid makes an impact in 2 minutes or 20.

We have to let Williams go. Who would he play in front of? Marbury? No. Francis? Crawford? No. No. Robinson? NO!!!

Meanwhile, he is on the perfect team for his situation and game and he is shooting 37% (And that is with some good shooting games recently, he was shooting in Frye territory before), he is averaging just as many turnovers as assists (Only because he had a big game last night), He's shooting 12% from 3, and he can't guard the average grandmother...

We don't need him and he would have had trouble here, he is already having trouble acclimating on the perfect tailor-made team!

The next Mark Jackson my ass...

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

If we did not have francis then Marcus would have been a fine pick.

Generally you take the best player available. Balkman fits a need and he should be just fine.

Taking balkman over Marcus makes a lot of sense for Isiah.

It would have been better to have the roster balanced to take a risk on Marcus and get him playing time.

It happens.

Nalod. We rarely agree, but I remember you once said that you were a St. John's fan and I am getting amped up for the college season!

Do you agree with this?: Marcus Williams = The next Mark Jackson my ass!

What am I spinning? Spinning means you're intentionally deceiving someone to try to make a point. You seem to just want to say something negative about me whenever possible. That hardly makes posting enjoyable. I was just asking a simple question and was curious what people thought. No one else had a problem with it.

Trevor tonight 21min 9 pts 3 steals 3 turnovers and 4 rebounds... not bad.
M. Williams 21 mins 4 pts 6 assists 3 rebounds and 2 turnovers... not bad either
Balkman 22 mins 18 points 7 rebounds and 2 blocks (and great D)... great

The more I hear about M. Williams the happier I am to have not selected him. I think he will probably be a great point guard but if he can't d it up, and he can't, it's just not worth it. Rondo is still looking good (from stats). Need to catch some more games on the net though.

I know it's just one night, but things are looking good with our kids.

can we not engage in yet another "Balkman vs. Marcus Williams" debate every time 1 of these kids has a good game? how about we just be happy w/what we got, a talented young kid w/great athleticism & a great attitude who fills our biggest need & will work his arse off every minute he's on the floor, & let NJ be happy w/what Marcus Williams gives them? now there's a novel concept!

pg defense is not as crucial if you are getting people the ball and creating a sharing environment on the team and keeping everyone lose. Nash can't play defense but he get everyone the ball. The knicks don't have one guy that really gets people the ball.....

Nate never gives it up, he shoots anytime he comes down the floor, but he brings intensity off the bench and get the crowd going so you can't measure the fact that he doesn't pass.....

Jamaal is horrible, he could literally be averaging 6 assists in his sleep on this team but chooses to kill the offense and start fastbreaks for the other team with his shots.....

So you let a kid wait and learn and then give him spot minutes are you try to trade him to a team that needs a pg on the cheap

Why, is Mardy Collins outplaying Marcus Williams?

And taking Balkman at 20 instead of 29 is like reason #100 of why Isiah sucks.
