Also for the person saying players arent flopping watch closely. These are 280 pound players ACTING like they have been shot with a cannonball. If they werent ACTING Curry would have a hard time knocking them down on purpose nevermind by total accident

Agguire and Herbie are jokes. We need to get Patrick in to work with Curry. Kareem has done wonders with the young bigs in LA.

I have thought this for a superrrrr long time. For what Patrick means to this organization, he should be here helping to develop Eddie. When he was in Houston, he worked with Yao, look at Yao now, Yao has moves, turnaround jumpers. Great centers, teach you how to use your body, how to adjust.
How can you have Herb William and Aguirre, Role players at BEST in their day train what is suppose to be our Franchise player. This needs to be done ASAP, get a great big man to teach. Everyone knows you are as good as your teacher, you can have all the talent, but if someone doesnt show you how to use it. It's a waste. This is why we see flashes of brillance and flashes from hell with eddy.

aguirre may or may not be able to coach, but i gotta disagree with your take on him as a player. he was a GREAT low-post scorer, one of the best in the league during his time. at 6'5" he worked that big butt down low and could get off whatever shot he wanted against guys of any size. if eddy could learn his low-post moves lhe'd be a 20+ scorer in a minute.

Aguire was a good low post player at 6 foot 5 but he was going against other small fwds. He never played the game at rim level. He could barely get off the ground. He also was an outide player. His game wasnt totally inside. He was never a defender nor a shot blocker. We need a real big man to teach our big men. We need a guy used to playing center to help these guys play cnter. Posting on offense is only 1 faucet of playing center and even Aguires post game was totally different than a centers. People couldnt throw lobs to aguire. People couldnt throw ally oops to aguire. Aguire usually didnt even get the ball in the post. He would get it outside the lane and then back his man down with the big butt you mentioned. Please hire Patrick or Clifford Ray to work with our big guys. Unless you want them to progress like Sweets did with Aguire.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

^ wow - now there's some agguire remembrances. i do remember his outside shot, and his backing guys in. but i also thought he parked it down low and got position and received the ball down there a lot. at any rate, the question still remains whether eddy is ever going to vary his game down there. that battering ram act isn't going too far for him.

Aguire was a very good player but his game was nothing like a power 6-11 players so he is the wrong guy for the job. We want our guys to be taught how to play at rims level. We also need help shotblocking, rebounding, and defending. Thats not Aguire. Why is it so out of the question for Isiah to bring patrick in? patrick has said several times he wants to come here and coach. He only took jobs elsewhere after being told we have no room for him. Throw the fans a bone. Bring back a link to the days the Knicks had pride. He is arguably the greatest knick ever. He wants to be here. The fans want him here. But Isiah wont bring him in. WHY?

I hate to burst your bubble, but I don't think the issue is the Knicks coach. While you might think Patrick Ewing helped develop Yao, but there's one thing to consider. Coming in to the league Yao was a better player than Curry has been in any of his seasons. Every season Yao has improved on the last (PER: 20.6, 21.9, 23.2, 25.7, 29.7 this year). Curry has never topped an 18 PER and he's inconsistent from year to year (best year was 2nd - still hasn't topped it). If you think Ewing still has some kind of magic beans, then why did Stromile Swift have his worst season in 5 years? Juwan Howard regressed in Houston, as did Mo Taylor.

Curry's been in the league for 5 years now, and with the Knicks being the second team to rest their hopes on him, you don't think he's received special attention from the coaching staff? Lee seems to have developed just fine under the tuttleage of the Knicks coaches.

Ultimately it's up to the player to succeed.

Ultimately it is up to the player but if good coaching cant help a player at all then Kareem wouldnt have been hired for Bynum and Clifford Ray wouldnt have been hired for Dwight Howard. Good coaching can make a ton of difference. Look at tiki barber. He could always run but his fumbles made a mess of his career. 1 move by a coach in regards to how he holds the ball has made him a top 10 player in the nfl.
You dont think Patrick has built up any wisdom in his 20 years? You dont think any of his expertize could help our bigs? If coaching doesnt matter at all then why do we have so many assistant coachs?

If Kareem made Bynum so good, then why does Kwame Brown still suck? It's more likely that the coaches told Bynum the same thing they told Kwame. The difference is that someone like Bynum or (or Tiki Barber) is able to take what he's told and apply the lessons on the court. While someone like Kwame Brown (or Ron Dayne) isn't willing or isn't able to apply what he's been taught.

In Dwight Howard, Yao Ming, and Bynum, the coaches had someone to work with that was able physically or mentally to improve. Teachers in every field are like sculptors. It depends on the elasticity of the medium - the more pliable the clay the more the teacher can make it into something beautiful.

In other words Eddy Curry is a hard lump of clay.

if he knows they flop, he should shoot a hook or a baby jumper.

he's dumb.

Start lee and frye.

or play him hard early, see where we stand and if he sucks, bring in lee and frye...same thing.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare
