“He told me to play the way he wants me to play -- and if I don’t think it’s the right way just bear with it. And I didn’t say yes and I didn’t say no.” - Marbury regarding a conversation with Larry Brown.

"He doesn't have to worry," Marbury said. "I'm going to do everything that I did before he came here."

"I'm going to say it again. I played like Stephon Marbury this year. And next year I'm going to play like Starbury"[

Confident that he won't be traded and repeating his familiar mantra to play like "Starbury" - whatever that means - next season, Marbury said that his days of conforming to Brown's demands as a controlled, pass-first point guard are over. Asked if that is what Brown wants to hear, Marbury fired back: "I don't care what he wants to hear. I'm telling you what I'm going to do."

dude, every player in the league gets a steal now and then. Players get blocks. That does not make a good defensive player. Curry gets blocks. Curry gets rebounds. Curry has gotten as steal. Curry is for sh!t defensively.

HEY LOOK, Yinkda Dare got 2 assits that one game! He is a good passer for a Center! Woowoo!

Who said he was a good defensive player? Marbury made some nice defensive plays during the game, as well as played some simply horrible defense!

BUt nobody wants to bring up his good plays for some reason.

It is just an equitable view of a game or the player's performance in that game.

The thing is, you don't want to mention anything he does well, and if it comes up you seem to have to spin it so it becomes bad!

I want to see you write something, anything, positive, about something, anything, Stephon Marbury did recently, and not some left-handed sarcastic remark, just something that shows me that everything you write about SM is not simply colored by dislike!

Please! Or I Dare You! Whatever works better!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

the Knicks are losing and the bad is worse - much much worse - than the good. I'll leave the good play to the homers. It's a short post.

Marbury's act is getting very old. I hate that we may have almost 3 more years of it.

This guy Marbury is only good at proving the critics right over and over again. This guy is so retarted sometimes, you mean to tell me after all these years in the league he still cant find a balnce between his passing and scoring? And you have rookies such as Chris Paul who do this naturally

So to observe any good makes one a homer? Geez, when you and I were arguing last year you managed to squeeze a lot of good water out of that stone. Were you a homer last year? Why could you do that last year and not this year? (He asked knowingly...)

When you hung your ass out a few weeks ago, you said that your happiness was not tied to wins, but to effort. Well the effort is better, is it not? Nate is improved. Lee is improved. Q is improved, playing as good or better than he has in his whole career (Isiah still gets no credit for bringing him in or for any aspect of his improved play) Balkman and Collins have the makings of decent players, Curry is better(While still wildly inconsistent) and there are a few other positives.

Sure the team is 2-6 just like last year. Only difference is that the schedule is 3 times harder over the same stretch. Things will get better Martin.

no, I just said that I would leave the good play remarks to the homers.

Lee, Nate, Q have never been a problem with effort. It's guys like Curry, Marbury, Francis that have shown lack of it. For this team to improve, these guys have to up their respective games. Curry has shown me a little something this year but it is light years away from anything special or average.

oohah- I agree with you a lot on this board- but Marbury doing one or two decent things doesn't deserve mentioning unless its a trend.

The problem is, I still don't see him fighting to get over screens or trying on defense.

He might try once in a while- but he needs to try to try more.

Francis has tried pretty hard when I have seen him play. Curry...I just cannot defend his manner of playing. He has no fire.

I think Marbury has to give consistent effort because he is up and down. No excuses for him. I just think we shoud take the good and take the bad take 'em both and then you have...welll you know the rest.

We'll bring it up when it happens. He had a couple very big stops on Lebron down the stretch when we needed stops. He should be applauded for those. They were absolutely enormous, especially considering how overmatched size wise he was. I will fight arm in arm with you ooh ahh if anyone disputes that these plays were anything but clutch.

His comment reminded me of my son telling me when behing told what to do he sometimes gets mad and does not want to do it even more.

He was 12 when he said this.

Pubertybury's comment was very telling in many ways.

Oh, Larry Lubba's like me like the young guys and I sure get a kick out of that little Nate fella! Effort and enthusiasm is a good thing. Sure Special Nate got too much of it, but it is not important right now to squelch it.

Marbury and Isiah are way too verbal and not enough substance to back up anything they say. In fact, DumbPhuchBury seems to say it all in due time. He is not smart enough to keep his mouth shut.

I'd like to see Dolan contest this fools contract!

sha na na na, na na na na, sha na na na na

Autumn turns to winter and then winter turns to spring,
its not just a season to know its goes for everything.
clouds can turn to rain and then it just might snow
You gotta take lesson from mother nature and if you do you'll know.

[chorus]
then its time to change
when its time to change you've got to rearrange
Well its time to change
move by the time come along for the ride, dont you see
move your heart to what your gonnabe.
sha na na na na na na sha na na na na na
day by day its hard to see the changes you've been through

a little bit of living a little bit of growing all adds up to you

Real man by Todd Rundgren

When I was a child
I thought as a child
I spoke as a child
I didnt know better
But now Im a man
I look like a man
Im old as a man
And I should know better
Got my head in the sky
And my mind knows what it wants
But my body just drags me down
And my world is something you cant see
But its still very real to me
You can find it in the hole where I keep my soul
There it is - way down inside me
Theres a real man
Forget about my body and be a real man

I see with my heart
I hear with my heart
I feel with my heart
Sometimes it works better
And some so-called friends put me down
And they pity me for trying
Bad emotions push me around
But the vision shines on and on
It will shine when we all are gone
And Id like to add a little sparkle while Im here
Light it up - way down inside me
Theres a real man
Forget about bad feelings and be a real man

Some mens world is only hate and money
Afraid of everything and they laugh at nothing
And they only live to criticize
You can laugh at me now [ha ha ha]
But the time comes to everybody
When you must decide
When that day finally comes along
You might wish youd been a little more strong
Then youll wake up in the morning cryin
Oh my god
There it is - way down inside me
Its a real man
You got to grow up sometime
Be a real man
Suffer them slings and arrows
Be a real man
Now be a real man
Dont sell yourself for nothing
Be a real man
Dont take no crap from no one
Be a real man
Get your trip together
Be a real man

Wow Marbury played good defense on 3 plays out of 60, even though he sucked ass on the other 57 plays. We should create a Marbury shrine for his great defensive prowess!!!

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
