Francis & Frye for Odom & Mihm

C - Curry / Cato
PF - Mihm / Lee / Malik
SF - Odom / Balkman
SG - Q Rich / Crawford / Collins
PG - Marbury / Nate

for the ten millionth time - LA will never trade Odom as long as they are trying to win with Kobe.

i'm sick & tired of all the hyperbole being used around this forum... this isn't even the 500th time i've heard that idea proposed.

I'd love to move Frye to Portland for one of their young swingmen. What about...

New York Trade Breakdown
Outgoing

Renaldo Balkman
6-7 from South Carolina
No games yet played in 2005/06

Channing Frye
6-11 C from Arizona
12.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 24.2 minutes

Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
14.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.8 apg in 32.3 minutes
Incoming

Travis Outlaw
6-9 SF from Starkville (HS)
5.8 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.5 apg in 16.7 minutes

Martell Webster
6-7 SF from Seattle Prep (HS)
6.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.6 apg in 17.5 minutes

Jamaal Magloire
6-11 C from Kentucky
9.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 0.7 apg in 30.1 minutes
Change in team outlook: -5.0 ppg, +5.4 rpg, and -2.8 apg.

Successful Scenario

Why for the Blazers?
With Brandon Roy and Darius Miles on the roster, they can afford to trade off these two young swingmen and they get Balkman in return. Jamal would could step right into SG for them and when Miles comes back, you can move Roy to SG and Crawford to PG. This trade balances their roster out a bit better.
Jack/Crawford/Roy/Randolph/Frye
bench: Aldridge, Dixon, Balkman, Pryzbilla, Dickau

Why for the Knicks?
Rebuilding is key for this team right now and I feel that Webster and Outlaw give the Knicks solid swingmen to build around and both are very good prospects and gives the Knicks an expiring contract THIS year. If Q keeps up his good play, you can then swing him at the deadline for a younger big to a team in need of his services.
Marbury/Francis/Jeffries/Magloire/Curry
bench: Lee, Webster, Outlaw, Q, Nate

Personally, I'd do it.

why do u want to trade away our own talented young swingman for 1 of theirs? Travis Outlaw? Balkman's going to be a much better player imo.

I've seen alot of good things from Outlaw. He's a matchup nightmare at SF since he's 6'9. He shoots the midrange jumper solidly, he rebounds, he plays good defense. I think he's going to turn into a 20pt 8rebound guy. Webster has a bright future, he's an oustanding shooter. This trade clears us some cap and we get 2 guys back who can fill some of our needs.

he's showing good improvement this season, & he's a few months younger than Balkman, i'll give u that... but alot of the same qualities that you like about him, Balkman also has, namely his defense & rebounding ability... Balkman needs to develop a perimeter shot, but w/time i don't see why he can't.

Webster is a nice shooter but what room do we have for another scorer on this squad?

to tell u the truth, the guy i'd be interested in the most in that deal is Magloire, but is his contract expiring or did he sign an extension? Hoopshype has his contract ending after this year, but i coulda sworn he'd signed an extension before last season... if POR would take Malik & Frye for him in a deal & throw us a future protected pick, i much rather explore something like that.

I would go for that as well. I'd do either that or the trades I proposed before, I really think Outlaw is going to break out this year, just my opinion, but I think we can swoop him up and have him break out for us.

I think Frye & Lee can be a very good combination at PF around Curry. I don't konw whats wrong with Frye. But once he starts hitting his jumpers again. It will force one of the opposing bigs out of the paint. Which will leave Curry with a lot of one on one opportunities to do damage in the paint and on the offensive glass. As well as guys like Jefferies, Balkman, Q, Lee to attack the offensive glass.

Lee is the tough rebounding hustler to do the dirty work inside around Curry.

I would love to steal Biedrins from GS though. Biedrins & Pietrus. The only deal I could think of would be Crawford & Frye for Foyle, Biedrins & Pietrus.

Curry has to stay on the court first.
