Etan Thomas just came off a 14pt 15reb 6blk performance. I think the time to get him has passed. I'm so freakin angry about it. He is one of my favorite players. Everyone was sleeping on him.

after a game like that, WAS would be very smart to trade the guy... he's a career 6 & 4 guy... this season he's putting up career #'s at 11 & 7 as a starter, but that's not exactly star level... u can get max value for him right now... u think Malik & CHI's 1st rounder wouldn't interest them? i think it would.

Washington would jump on that and I think he is worth that but if you are down playing what etan can do why do you want him?

i'm not downplaying what Etan can do... he's a solid role player to have... but he's not a star... i think he wouuld fit well on this team because he'd add some needed toughness in the frontcourt & a shotblocker which is our biggest need right now... Malik is a good teammate & a scrappy player, but he doesn't give us shotblocking.

if u could get Etan for Big Turd's equal length deal & the 1st rounder, i would do that in a heartbeat... if it takes Malik & the 1st rounder, then i might hesitate unless WAS was throwing in a future pick for the Knicks

if WAS has any interest in Channing Frye on the other hand, i might be willing to trade him & Big Turd for Etan & their unrestricted 1st rounder in 2007.

Maxiel's pretty much Darvin Ham... u can sign Ham right now if u want an athletic undersized F

Gomes... why? he's not a great shotblocker & he's an undersized F also.

Darko for Frye? that's got some possibilities.

no way we get Pau.

Sean May's another undersized F... i'd rather not go after a Mike Sweetney clone if i can help it... Etan's a better fit because of his athleticism, size & rugged defense... & he won't cost us much in terms of young talent

Isn't cato the 15th man?

Still signing a young guy like Justin is a possiblity.

Is it possible to pull multiple players for a guy like Francis? Isiah could ship him to la la land and get a **** load of nice prospects not named bynm, lol. Kwame brown?

ugh... a Kwame & Curry frontcourt... no thanks... we need a guy w/some balls, heart, toughness & who knows how to play the game of basketball playing next to Eddy... we don't need a spacy kid w/a low basketball IQ & lack of fundamentals who can't take the pressure of playing for a demanding head coach for Isiah to babysit.

I like those guys, but really, who on that list is attainable?

Maybe Griffin if Minnesota looks like it won't make the playoffs, but he has a host of personal problems.

Maybe Swift if Warrick continues to play well and Gasol comes back healthy.

But really, I don't know what we can give up.

I do think Jefferies will help, he's not a cure-all tonic or a rugged PF, but he's a tough guy, a rebounder, runs hard and makes his opponents work for their points. We'd probably be 3-2 right now with Jefferies healthy.

Gooden - would cost us way too much to get him in picks & talent... & he's not the shotblocker that we need
Rasheed Wallace - no thanks
Melvin ELY - we don't need him & he's not a shotblocker
Etan - perfect fit, get him
Battie - decent fit, but not as explosively athletic as Etan
Swift - blocks shots but very low basketball IQ & no fundamentals
PJ Brown - no thanks
Griffin - headcase, no thanks

why would Washington trade Etan? he's a big part of their defense. he's an affordable player and their only real big if Haywood goes down.

You have zero guards that play any defense. You have two PF that are in their second year they will get better defensively. Lee got a double-double in 22 minutes last night and Reggie evans couldnt get off the bench. Get a defensive guard or a shooter

Jefferies will help the defense, not a lot, but a little. Making any trades right now is a bad idea. All the guys on the team other than Q, Nate and Lee are at rock bottom as far as their value is concerned. And I'm not trading Q, Nate or Lee.

Jefferies really would have helped in the pacers(Al Harrington) and Hawks(JoeJohnson) Loses.
As for us getting those players, I think some of them would cost Frye(Gooden) and I believe some are at odds with their front office. Like Ely over money and Swift didn't want to even go back. Personally the players I want is PJ Brown(Defense/Rebounds/Shooter) and Gooden(Same as brown)...... and I'm willing to part with frye for gooden.

Shooter would be perfect, but who and for what?

Frye for Duhon and a future #1. I don't think we can get our pick back but maybe a 2008 first rounder (lotto protected of course because they have some intelligence in the front office).

Then bring in a guy like Etan Thomas if possible or draft a banger next year and we're in business.

Duhon, Q, Jefferies, Lee, Curry with Nate, Crawford, Balkman, a defensive 4 off the bench.
