i know you manned up on that trade idea so i'll let that one slide.

we'll see tonight how good Kmart looks. he's back, even Simmons said so.

So he underachieved a little less each year. Curry should be at around 35 with the physical gifts he has.

35 is a pretty unreasonable expectation for you to have... if that's the case Dwight Howard should be there as well w/the physical gifts he has, but currently he's at 25, 1 below Curry... of course, Howard is a monster on the other end blocking shots & being an intimidator, but you understand it's not a set given that a kid w/Curry's body type & athleticism would be putting up 35 type production... that's alot for even the elite bigmen in the NBA... hell, Tim Duncan's at 29, Brand's at 23 & Shaq's at 21 right now... the only bigmen w/combined pts & rebounds over 30 are Yao, KG & Dirk
Curry's more gifted physically than most of those players. He's got Brand's strength but he's 3 inches taller. He's got much more strength than all the players except Shaq that you listed and he's got the youth that many don't. But I'd settle for 25 if Curry played well on defense. If he's gonna be a one-way player, he's gonna need to hit at least around 30 to get some praise from me, especially if he's gonna be awful in the other 3 main stats and awful in turnovers. Summing points and rebounds is a strange way to evaluate players, though.

I'm sure oliver miller and kandi man and other busts have put together stretches of games where they look good.

Its doing it every night that is the difference between a star and a nice good player.

Curry is a nice good player. He is not a star.

Ewing put up numbers every night- he rarely took a game off.

Curry is garbage.

Well that's pretty fair.............. either your an all-time great or you are garabage!!!! LOL

I think people confuse what Curry can be with what he is. If curry plays this well for the rest of the season he is an allstar and this is his supposely Garabage/lazy curry. He's 23-24 with room to still become better, I think seeing were his skills end is payment enough for having to deal with "Garabage" eddie.

He's more like the 20/10 player Charles Smith was on the LA Clippers, only with 2 less points and 2 less rebounds.

Great comparison- Charles Smith.

that's the thing with curry- sure, he has some great averages - but there are strings of games where he is invisible.

and when you are 7ft, 280 and invisible, you are oliver miller in my book.

there are also strings of games where Curry looks like an Allstar... Eddy needs to show more consistency, no doubt, but he's been doing a better job this year than last in being more assertive on the offensive end... we can't expect him to become Shaq... he doesn't have that same mentality... i'll take incremental progress w/Eddy & if he can be an 18 & 8 C this year after it's all said & done, i don't see how any Knick fan could possibly complain.

I agree. I'd even accept 17 and 7. I think there will be times he disappears this year that our more a result of the guards either being hot or just shooting too much. I will cut him slack on those nights. For instance I think he played poorly last night but I dont' think the team gave him much chance to get involved.

last year everyone was saying they'd be happy if Curry could give us 17 & 7/16 & 8 type production... then they see Eddy show flashes of brilliance in some games & their expectations skyrocket to where now they expect the guy to be 1 of the elite bigmen in the game right away... i just don't get it... don't they realize this kid is still only 23 & that bigmen notoriously take a long time to develop & mature? Eddy's still 3-4 years away from even hitting his prime, & yet people expect him to be a top C in the NBA right now... it's going to take time... he's showing progress... what more can people want at this point? we're not contending for any championships this year... the next few seasons need to be dedicated to the development of our young players, & hopefully set up this franchise to make a run at a title somewhere down the road... if Eddy continues to improve, he can become a huge part of that longterm plan for success... we just have to be PATIENT... most Knick fans don't seem to understand what that word means, unfortunately... after all the years of crap i've had to witness lately, it's a breathe of fresh air to actually see some young guys growing & improving on this team.
