The bad side

Beno Uldrich and Brent Barry made "I'm The Best" and the rest of the backcourt save Nate their Beeyotch. Tony Parker had some moments of Ownage then got board till the end. Wasn't it the other game Daryl Armstrong and Jasukevi(sp?) oh and then the other game Tyron Lue oh and the other game Chucky Atkins and some 6'0" nobody by the name of Kyle Lowry snagged 10boards in 25min. Anyone see a trend here.

i've been noticing the same trend the past couple seasons when guys like Milt Palacio were torching us in games too... it's not hard to figure out that we have the worst defending G's in the NBA.

LOL 7 is better than none. :)
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Run a pick and roll with any of our guards and you will end up with a lay-up or a wide open jumper. Everytime. Worse off, they won't get angry or change what they are doing. It's just the same old crap.
I just hope that people will like me

Uhhh Benard sugarcoat all you want it's unacceptable. Look up the FG% of opposing backcourts these 4gms and get back to us since you seem to look deep into things. Also just to inform you the team is allowing 108ppg....... ENJOY!

Zeke said before the game/tipoff that Curry would play against/gaurd Duncan. He said in order for him to get better he has to play and gaurd against the best. He said he's not worried about Curry offensively but defensively he needs to improve.

Did anyone see Curry gaurd Duncan yesterday or was it good ole "burried on the bench until I have no choice but to put you in Malik Rose" who gaurded him?

I'm going to start referring to Zeke as MUTE!

the bright side to me is that there are flashes of this team putting it together.

Flashes.

Another Bright side. Knicks fought their way back into the game. They did not roll over. Last year we lose by 50.

Last year we lost 96-109, this year 93-105.

But hey, it's a 12 pt differential, not 13, so we're definitely "better."

Clyde & Gus did a perfect run through analysis of the piss poor job Marbury did getting over a pick & allowing Tony Parker way too much space to get off an uncontested jumper last night during the game when there was literally about 6 feet of floor separating Parker & Duncan who was setting the pick to begin with... that's a perfect illustration of what is wrong w/this team right now... none of the Knick G's except for Nate & Mardy gives a crap or takes pride in playing defense the way it's supposed to be played... Jamal has made a few defensive plays this season but has been way too lackadaisical in letting his man release downcourt on fastbreaks... Francis & Marbury are the worst defending G's i've ever seen wearing a Knicks' uniform, it's not even close.

What game are you referring to? Last year's home game against the Spurs? I fail to see what any of that has to do with the guys fighting back from 23 down to come within 2. Would you prefer they gave up?

If you don't get the comparison to last year why did you make it?

Because obviously Blue, I am comparing the attitude and heart of last years team vs. this years team, not comparing the result of each specific game this year against last year's result in each specific game against each specific team, as I am not sure what such a comparison would prove.

Now that I answered your question, please answer mine, would you prefer they gave up?

You chose to quantify "not giving up" with a score - losing by 50 points - but we didn't lose by 50 points last year, in fact the scores were shockingly similar. I wouldn't be at all surprised if played well for 7 minutes last year too.

Does that answer your question?

Not really. I don't remember last year's Spur's game, but I don't remember any game from last year where the team fell behind big like 20 or more and fought their way back in. So I am not concentrating on last year's Spurs game. I am concentrating on last years attitude and effort vs. this year's, at least in this thread.

You stated before that you thought the team played hard in the Pacer's game. They showed resiliency and effort yesterday. I find that to be encouraging regardless of what they lost by last year to the Spurs in a given game that very unlikely resembled this year's game outside of the final score.

i thought they played hard to start last year too. and there were plenty of games where the starters fell behind by 20 and the kids charged us back. i think you are trying to draw great differences in "heart" between this point last year and this point this year that are greater than exist in reality.

in fact, if anything, i thought the first several games of last season they exhibited GREATER defensive intensity than this year.

Oh Blue, you're just needling me!

You're right they did show some nice defense at the beginning of last season, but they never showed us they had what it takes to threaten in a game where they were down by 23. The kids did show they could fight back somewhat early on, but you-know-who saw that and put the Kibosh on that noise poste-haste lest anyone think these guys could actually play.

He did exactly what Isiah did, let the kids fight us back until they needed a rest, then put in starters to see if they could keep it up. On this night Marbury happened to hit a couple of perimeter Js at the right time, and that is the major difference between last night and early in the season last year.

That's really all there is to it. Now of course last year we also had Marbury chose to not listen to anything LB had to say after the 8th game of the season, so other dynamics came into play later on. Bt at this point in each season, I see a lot of parity.
