Some people will search and search and search and search for reasons for our losses. Some theories will arise as the season goes along, but our problems are many.

No leadership
Poor ball handling
Lack of a sustained effort
Poor chemistry
Poor roster make-up
Lack of fundamentals

The list goes on and on. We keep searching for one simple flaw, but I bet 80 other posters could come up with 80 other flaws. The major problem we have is that the players that we are relying on to win have never won, don't know how to win, don't lead and are showing every other person who joins this roster that things are hopeless because they don't know how to win.

Man do we need a win!

I agree. It is unfortunate, too, that our team has not had the benefit of a consistent authority figure that held them accountable. Not making excuses for the team -- just pointing to the disease that I think is causing all the symptoms.

well i'm no rocket scientist...but i think the main reason why we lose is b/c we score less points than the team we play.

Everytime we hire someone who knows how to win. We fire him in favor of guys that don't know how to win. Sooner or later if we are going to win we are going to have turn over the keys to someone who has won.

It's so simple yet we refuse to do it. Our three best players have never won!!!! Say that again and again everytime you wonder why we break down at crucial moments. Our guys don't know what it takes to win. Taht's why they are so friggin frustrated.

And barring a miraculous turnaround we're looking at Thomas being fired sometime during or possibly after the season. What type of NBA coach or exec will take a job with the Knicks? Of course, people will say that we'll hire somebody because we can offer them a boatload of money, but when you think about it -- is that a good thing? We need a guy to come in here and fix this mess and the only way someone can do that is to roll up their sleeves and do the dirty work. If we hire a guy who's only here to make a big pay day, the chances are he won't do the work needed. He'll be another pawn of Dolan's. And we'll be looking at another half decade of treading water.

what's going to happen in the offseason is, Jerry West becomes Knicks' GM... Dolan then gets enamored w/the idea of bringing Michael Jordan in to create some news... Dolan gives control over to Jordan, fires West after a half a season, & Jordan signs Kwame Brown to a max contract.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

We're looking at a team, this year, that is remarkably similar to the team last year. Our starters go down early. Our reserves bring us back. We're falling into huge holes quickly. We can't guard the pick and roll. Teams are making three pointers at will against us. We don't take care of the ball. Any small sign of cohesion disappears the minute the team is faced with adversity.

We've watched enough Knicks basketball last year to know that these are known problems. These are not new issues. How is it that, through an entire off-season, we have not managed to correct one of these issues?

I don't want to get too down on the team this early, but when effort is an issue -- we are in trouble. And in the last three games effort was a problem. Effort is the minimum we should expect and we are not even getting that. I thought the player's love for Isiah was supposed to result in greater effort. What's happening?

Earl, Nixluva -- where are you?
