Mardy plays, Balkman plays, Rose plays, and we are back to a 12 man rotation. Ironic.

Mardy does actually remind me a lot of Frank in the way that Frank looked pretty nervous out there early on also (if I remember correctly).

Then Frank eventually started to show why he was a first round pick and he was showing that he belonged out there. Of course, we all know what happened next with the winning streak, the injury, and the Marbury trade.

Mardy looked really lost out there in summer league but he seems like a different player out there ever since that preseason game (forgot which one, but he played pretty well).

Its early though, lets see how he progresses.

Mardy Collins is a marginal NBA player at best. As soon as his guaranteed contract is up he'll be out of the NBA.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I disagree. He's an excellent backup PG, he's in the mold of Eric Snow, Anthony Johnson. Your right he's not going to be anywhere close to an all-star but he's a very solid pure PG.

Mardy can have a career. it would probably be helpful for him to move on to a better environment though.

for guys like Mardy it all depend on toughness between the ears. Hell, thats the difference between John Starks and John Wallace. Everyone in the NBA is talented. Obviously some are gifted. Its the drive to be great and the work ethic to maximize one's god given gifts. John Daley once asked Tiger Woods why he practiced so much. Tiger's response was "If I had your talent I wouldnt have to."
If (a huge if) Mardy has a great feel for the game, and the great work ethic and mental toughness it takes to stick no reason he cant be a hell of a good NBA player. Derrick Harper made up for in strength what he couldnt do in speed.

Mabye we got lucky and landed a one of those players who's talent and ability cant be measured by verticle leap and agility drills.

On paper I agree w/ Isles fan, but who knows? Maybe in 5 years Mardy and Nate are the starting back court for a finals team. Probably be on a different team but dont let that stop the dreaming
