It goes back to what wsdm said.. Ownership is the bigger problem. I don't think you'll get a shrewd, intelligent, reputable G.M over here to clean this mess.

Upper management has to change their philosphy about this team. All they want someone to accomplished is make the playoffs with 40 wins.. They don't care for a championship and are not really looking @ the long term bigger picture.

If Kiki comes in here becoming the new pres and GM, Dum Dolan would give him specific orders on what to do with this team.

Ever since the old regime left, It's been downhill for the knicks. The only way we see a championship with the knicks is for Dolan to dissolve the knickerbockers from his empire.

HEy Dave Checketts, former pres of the Knicks predicted this to happen and it's happening..

He took Nene over Amare.

He won't be able to replicate the Camby/McDyess trade because he won't find an emasculated GM in NY to trade with.

To me, Kiki is like Grunfeld. He may well be a step up from what we have, but on balance, he's mediocre.

And Red Aurebach took Mel Counts over Willis Reed.

Show me a GM that has compiled a resume that is half as impressive as Red's, and I'll cut him a similar amount of slack.
