Yeah I dunno about showcased. He's been by far our best players, and generally you need your best players to play a lot to win.

i agree that he's been our best player, that's why he's on the court. but for him to be taking minutes away from lee AT THE PF spot is what makes me ask this question.

three games and he's being showcased?

I think he is the only one play well on both sides of the ball.

Lee not playing isn't necessarily equate to Q being showcased- I think Lee is an energy guy and despite everyone wanting him to play 30-35 mins a night, I think he is more effective when he doesn't play as much.

w/the #'s Q's putting up, he's more than a good value at the money he's making
With the year he just came off of, I think teams are gonna want a lot more than 3 good games to start being interested in paying him about $8 mil annually.

compared to Stephon & Francis, Q Rich is a relative bargain... & i'm not an advocate of trading Q Rich, just so you know.
Teams won't compare Q to Steph and Francis. They'll evaluate Q on his own and he's a guy with a large contract who was one of the worst players in the league last year and has simply had a couple of good games. If he puts together a good MONTH, then he might have a little trade value.

You're right on wsdm. Q has been playing great, but looking at his history, you have to figure he is simply hot. He's a good player, but cannot maintain this level of play.

As for his getting showcased, I think that is very possible. I would rather they showcase JC though.

Unfortunately teams would just decide they don't want what's being shown

How many games does it take to be showcased? All showcasing means is that a player is being played a large number of minutes and/or being featured.

Lee is not playing into it as far as I am concerned.

Anyway, I am not saying that he is definitely being showcased. Q is playing great so he deserves the minutes, however, ANYONE being showcased in the backcourt is not hard to believe, there is a logjam.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Why is Q getting minutes at the 4? Probably the same reason guys like Crawford and Francis are getting minutes at the 3. Isiah seems to like small lineups with this roster for whatever reason. I don't think Q is being showcased-- he's earning all of his minutes.

As for why Lee isn't getting as much burn, to be honest he hasn't looked as good the past 2 games as he did in the opener. He's forced his passing a bit and hasn't seemed quite as disruptive overall. Maybe opposing teams are putting more emphasis on keeping him off the boards and out of the game, maybe he's a little tired after the marathon opener. Tough to say only 3 games into the season.

I think this idea makes sense trade a post, hustle, perimeter shooting, defensive player for something the team doesn't need.(rolling eyes)

Q hands down has been the best player on this team.

again, i'm not an advocate of trading Q... i don't know how many times i have to say it for the point to come across... what he's giving this team right now is our most consistent player on both sides of the ball at a very reasonable contract... 1 bad season last year doesn't erase the type of player Q's been his entire career... all he's doing now is being the player he already was.

makes perfect sense to me... Darius Miles would be a perfect fit on this team... headcase, bad attitude, immature beyond belief, thinks he's way better than he really is... what's not to like?

the best lineup for this team is going to end up being an 8 man rotation of;
Nate - Marbs - Q - Jeffries - B-Man - Lee - Frye - Curry

Francis has interesting potential, hopefully interesting enought for someone to take him off of our hands.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

that team would be lucky to crack 35 wins. but sadly, no matter what lineup you throw out there, it peaks at 35.

I think we differ then on how he played his whole career. I think most GMs see him as a $8 mil year player who's a streaky 39% shooter who rebounds well but is below average in all other phases of the game.

I don't know how you think Marbury would be better for this team than Francis if we had to choose one. Francis is one of the best rebounders from the point guard position and is in a much better physical state than Marbs.

With that being said, I think that unit does well. Look at the Lakers playing without Kobe -- they play a team game and have guys that do the little things that don't need touches to be effective. With that lineup we are better defensively than we have been in years (Jefferies and Q would be able to stop some of the perimeter penetration that allows opposing teams to score at will). We would be a running team with Curry, Francis, and Q being the focal points on offense for the first unit and Crawford, Frye, and Nate getting the ball for the second unit. Lee, Jefferies, and Balkman can be effective without touches and we'd be one of the best rebounding teams in the league. I say that team wins 45 games. Problem is IT needs to cut Marbury which won't happen.

it really doesn't matter to me how other GM's see Q Rich... i think he's a player that should be held onto & is definitely not part of the problem w/this team... Q could have easily played on those nasty Knick teams of the early-mid 90's that made me an avid fan of this franchise to begin with... i like his old school attitude & mentality... i'd sooner buy out Marbury AND Francis than to trade Q Rich (unless we were getting a top 15 1st round pick, which i don't see happening realistically)
