this wasnt about Briggs being right. If you have been around here for awhile he's launched quite a few duds. However he's always been of the opinion that we should break things down and move up to get lottery talent and financial flexibility.

Sometimes you will be right, other times wrong. But if every year you put all your assets into amassing as many HIGH picks as you can chances are your going to be pretty solid after a couple of years.

I was bored... was came across a couple interesting threads. One was myself defending Don Chaney. I was saying how the impact of coaching was overrated and the problem was a KT/Othella/Spoon frontcourt everynight, NOT Don Chaney.

More things change, the more they stay the same

I would give Briggs props if he called Wade out in 2001...not AFTER he carried Marqutte, by himself, to the Final Four.

to be honest..as impressed as I was by Wade's performance that final year in College, I never thought he would be the player he is today.

Wade wasn't the same player in 2001. Plsyers tend to improve with experience

We will be in position to get a very high pick perhaps Lebron because we are truly a top3 candidate for the worst team in the league.

not quite... this team won just enough games to end up w/the next Elton Brand that year... seems like my fellow proponents of tanking the season that year to get a legit shot at guys like Lebron, Wade & Bosh may have been on to something afterall.

Godddammmmitt not this again. I said style of play, style of play, style of play!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note: It's okay to be wrong.

i will admit you were right on Bynam.. I never saw him play before but its plain to see - his POISE as a big man is something special.. Those passes hes been throwing of late are crazy... I still would have probobly taken Frye over him just because of circumstance but you made a good call that he would be great. (which i never doubted actually)

Marcus i always agreed with you will be a great player and was a steal for NJ.... But again due to circumstance i dont think it would have worked if we drafted him unfortunately i think he would have been unhappy.

I will be looking for your college player analasys from now on for sure tho...

What do you think of James White? Should we get him? I just know he can DUNK!

you have to overlook circumstances every time. Otherwise you wind up drafting Frederic Weis over Ron Artest

Look at Chi... it took them a long time and look at some of the mistakes along the way: Fizer, trading Brand, Eddie Robinson, Jay Williams but they brought in Pax who stuck with a plan and just executed it better.

Is there any team set up better for success both now and in the future than the Bulls right now?

You do have a point, but that still did not leave me to believe Wade would be the player he's become

look on the bright side Bip... maybe this time next year u can pull up the 2006 Draft day thread & bust on me for supporting Isiah's pick of the next Dennis Rodman/Shawn Marion.

or the Stephon Marbury trade thread when i was in support of that brilliant move by Isiah... i must've been on my medications that day.

man...I just finished digging through some old threads. Seems like there were a lot of old posters high on K.Clark, Wagner and CHRIS MARCUS then...and wanted Layden to draft J.Jeffries at the time (lol).

Whatever happen to K9?

I was surprise to see a lot of todays posters not around in 01/02.

i was over at MSG back in those days, when the Nazi hadn't yet taken over & it was still a democratic commonwealth... we were talking about the same things over there as well... i remember alot of posters high on Chris Marcus too... i think someone called him the next Felton Spencer though... don't remember who... i remember i was high on Dajuan Wagner & Chris Wilcox for the '02 draft... i think BRIGGS was high on Drew Gooden that year if i'm not mistaken... don't remember who Bip was high on... maybe it was the chronic.

In all honesty I hadn't seen 90% of the players in the draft play more than 1 game. So I don't feel confident giving an opinion. I can give you my thoughts on Big East players and that's about it.

same here... i'm more high on the prospect of what i hear about these guys rather than on what i've actually seen from them... i don't follow college hoops avidly like some others on this forum... i rely on scouting reports & some limited action i might catch during March Madness games... i was high on the idea of Yao Ming too, but i'm pretty sure no one on this forum or on MSG saw much of Yao Ming play before the draft that year... same goes for Amare Stoudamire... the only time i saw him play was during the McDonald's HS game when he was going up against Carmelo Anthony in the dunk contest... he looked like a beast then, but who knew he'd grow into the dominant post player he is now? most guys probably base their opinions on scouting reports when it comes to these HS & international players. (see Lebron James also)

Swish you heard from ice, or did he change his handle.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
