I don't think you'll see Isiah calling out guys in the media. He has always been known for putting on the smile in front of the camera, but it's just for all the fans. If he's got a problem it's gonna stay in the locker room. They might lose 10 in a row and he's probably going to act like everythings fine, when you see him on TV or read his quotes, but don't think he's such an idiot that he'll really believe that. Oh and if somebody isn't with the team he won't have to be positive about any more (right Greg Anthony?). He believed in Larry right up until Larry was gone, at least if you were reading what he said in the papers. His biggest criticism of Larry while he was still there was for being down on guys in the paper. Get used to his optimistic takes but don't think that's all he's got, it's just what he's saying.

Okay so he's lieing to us now but behind closed doors he's being truthful to the team. When LB was here, he wasn't lieing to us, he was being truthful. None of us have any idea what goes on.

No, He will always be positive in the media even if it means lieing to you. The only time he was truthful AND negative (about someone in the org at the time) was when he said he was mad at Larry Brown for not lieing to you and instead calling guys out in the media.

If he's lieing how do you know???????? You don't know. None of us know. I will never pretend that I know what really went on with LB and Isiah. Who was right and who was wrong. Some fans just try to selectively pick what is the truth and what was a lie based on their point of view, thus missing the entire point. Last year was a disaster. Everyone associated with the organization was a complete utter failure. Those same fans continue to select truths and lies as we roll into the new season.

In college Ray Allen was depicted as a saint. A family man that played for his highschool sweetheart and lovely child at home. It was printed so often that everyone in the school talked about what a great guy he was. You could not convince anyone that he was the biggest pig on the team that slept with a different girl every night and loved to toke on the peace pipe. I read so many false stories that were so far from the truth about the players they were written about. So many news stories about what was going on behind the scenes. So many stories were so far from the truth that they must have been concocted in someone's living room. I soon realized that you can't beleive anything you read.

As much as all of us want to pretend we know what went on last year. As much as we want to concoct conspiracy theories that fit our beleifs. None of it matters. None of us know squat. We just don't want to admit it. You and I have no clue who really wanted Jalen or Stevie. Or who started marbs or LB. Or who tuned out who and for what reason. Or if Trevor deserved his benching and just lied about not knowing why. None of us have a clue. We just pretend we do.

When I tore up my ankle I was so depressed that I had considered quitting basketball forever. My coach had a 5 hour conversation about being a man and finishing what you started. By the end of the conversation I said that I would. I was offered a partial scholarship. After the conversation I agreed to stay with the team and finish it out even if it meant never playing. I even said I would do it without a scholarship because there were guys on campus that might be more productive than me and the scholarhip should not be wasted(which I later accepted when sanity kicked in)

The rumors where that I barged into the office and demanded that I be given a full-scholarship or that I would transfer to another school. I later was put into my place and accepted a partial "or else".

You guys have no idea what really goes on.

Mr. Calhoun treated you well. I would not want to be the subject of a 5hour tirade from him, I think I'd actually **** my pants.

He was cursing at Nate when Nate got that T. But he wasn't all animated and yelling and all that but he was cursing him out and if you were watching their body language you wouldn't know.

I didn't see what caused Nate to get the tech... you catch how Isiah chewed him out though? WOW.

I know it's sometimes hard to view Isiah as a guy who knows what he's doing, but the guy KNOWS what he's doing when it comes to dealing with his players. He's shown an ability to circle the wagons and get his players to believe in TEAM and I don't think that aspect of what he does has been appreciated fully.

This team still has a LOT of work to do, but certainly a month of working on their flaws isn't enough time to totally wipe away years of bad habits. It's gonna take time to see just how much better this team can be in this new style of play. To see if these guys can be disciplined enough to stay with the offense under stress.

I trust Isiah the coach a hell of alot more than I trust Isiah the GM. Isiah proved himself to be a pretty good coach in Indiana and I have NO problem with Isiah coaching this team. Isiah gm'ing this team, now thats another story.

Nixluva: I like your posting and respect it. But it's still eating me alive. Why when I say the exact same thing you do, do you call me a hater???? I don't want to start an argument it just bothers me.

I have no problem with Isiah the coach. He did an okay job with Indiana. He developed and worked with his players. His "us against the world" method this year is a great strategy. I don't think he will do a bad job this year and I will not overanalyze every move he makes. I do think however his coddling of the players and not holding them accountable is a strategy that will hold the players back and will cause them to keep some of the bad habits. Someone at some point has to hold them accountable. Other than that I am confident that like LB and Lenny he has enough knowledge to coach this team properly if given the proper support. He like all coach's has flaws but enough to coach a winner.

As a GM, buying out half the players you obtain is not an endorsem, ent

OK OK... I can buy this deal about Isiah chewing out his players in private and not in public, i like that... But theres a difference between not BASHING your players like larry brown.. and acting like you are perfect and nothing is wrong...

Whats wrong with saying to the press "our ball movement could have been better we allowed them to come back" he was all like "it was amazing that we had a 19 point lead to begin with" I mean come on... give me a break... Whatever tho..

If he IS chewing out his players in private, fine - But then i dont want to hear Jamal Fucking Crawford saying to the media that all his shots were good shots they just diddnt fall. Thats what Isiah has to be on top of.
