If that game was in the garden we would have lost

just curious what makes u say that? doesn't the home team usually have the advantage late in games?

The pressure to win the home opener after the debacle last yr would have been to much. The media and fans would have expected the knicks to win going away and we all witnessed the 4th qtr meltdowns last yr.

Zeke said our team was weak mentally last yr, this yr he said they were recoverying from being beat down from LB last yr.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I missed most of the game due to a family emergency, but I caught the end of OT and most of the 3rd OT, So I didn't see them blow the 19 point lead, but I think some here who labeled this a "terrible win" (as I saw more than a few do in the game thread) are conveniently overlooking the fact that this kind of thing happens to ALL NBA teams over the course of a season, and that this has not been typical of the team over the past several seasons.

Every team has taken a big lead in a game and blown it late, as the Knicks did last night and have done MANY a time over the past few seasons. It strikes me as odd that the MAJOR difference between the past few seasons and yesterday's game; which is that the Knicks fought off the comeback, and managed to pull out a victory is being ignored by what seems like people getting caught up in the emoitional disappointment of not blowing out Memphis, as if that nullifies the victory. In my mind fighting off comebacks IS ONE OF THE SIGNS of a winning team.

Certainly the criticisms of defense and a mental collapse in the 4th, as well as the poor play from Steve and Frye are valid, as is the idea that we had to keep feeding Crawford for the final shot on set plays (except when Nate took that one shot late in the 3rd OT, I believe?) when he was so off. And sure, Memphis was playing without Gasol or Swift, not that I see losing him any worse than us losing Jeffries, so really I'd only count Pau, but their young guns played really well.

Things need to be worked on, but the lesson of last night's game could be a valuable one over the course of the season, and I'll take the Win anytime, no matter how it comes.

playa, there may be something to what u just said, i'll give u that... the fans would've been booing their heads off at the Knicks after they let that 19 pt deficit dwindle to nothing in the 4th quarter.

Great effort last night. I knew Memphis would make a run and the knicks didnt hit their shots to maintain the big lead. That said, I am extremely happy with there will and determination. They could have tanked the game and lost in the comeback. Instead they held on and won the game.
I'm tired of hearing the nonsense about them playing against 2nd stringers or bench players. Those guys on the griz were having the game of their life.
Curry had a monster game, you can clearly see he is getting in better shape. He can keep up with the pace, the only time I realized he was tired was in the 3rd ot where Griz got like 5 off reb in a row and he fouled out. He does not have to score 25 and 18 for the team to win.
- Lay off the guards, the ball goes into Curry when he has good position and the defense dictates that. Someone said it in another post. They were fronting him and cheating with a 2nd defender. Marb,Craw, Francis would be fools to throw it in there, for what for him to turn around and run over the help defender. The scouting report is out on Curry, teams are fronting him and doubling him (as they do too Shaq) it shows the opponents respects his game and what he is capable of doing. Curry post game goes as the teams perimeter game goes.

- Stop worrying about Francis and craw. They had a bad game. When Francis scored 30+ against the nets, people were ready to make him captain. all of a sudden he is the odd man out. Basketball is like that, sometimes you cant catch a break. What is more important, was his attitude and aggressiveness. Even though he was having a bad offensive game, he was still hustling and very vocal.

my 2 cents on the game and everything else.

oh btw... There was only one ball on the court last night; I thought they shared it quite well. ( a knock on the commentators who say francis and marbs need 2 bballs
