I hung my ass out there months ago Game. I said 35-38, but I am feeling good after camp so I am going with 38-41.

Channing Frye will threaten to make the all-star team!

Francis will play so good he becomes trade bait and we land Ray Allen!

Marbury will shine and threatens to be an all-star even more than Frye!

Curry gets his head out of his ass!

I would write more but I am working!

Forget these wishy-washy mugs (Except Isles) they just don't want to admit they are wrong later! Hang your asses dammit!

Nothing wrong with asking people to speak up without hemming and hawing!

36 Wins this season
no playoffs
Isiah NOT fired by Dolan
Marbury still PG of the Knicks
no titles until 2010 at the earliest

I actually think it is the ones that refuse to state an opinion because they are afraid of being wrong that are the ones with the inflated ego. I mean, of course, if Curry starts rebounding like Ben Wallace, and Q can shoot at .500, and Marbury starts being a leader, and Fyre plays defense, the team can win. So statements like, well if this and this happens the team can win don't really say much. What do you think will happen is the question. But if the question is too pointed because of the inclusion of labels, I will retract any label comments. To me the labels were not really the issue, it was the opinion. Do you think the team will fail or succeed this year based on what you have seen so far?



The problem isn't the question, it's the inane childish labelling. You said the people who say it's about ego are the same one's that won't give you an answer. Well I gave you an answer to how I think the Knicks will do. I said between 35-40 wins. NOw what I'm waiting for is what does that make me? An optimist or a pessimist. I need a label in order to exist!!!! Now give me a goddamnnnnnnn meaningless label!!!!!!

TheGame I asked the same question ver the summer and got responses from pretty much everyone. Maybe because I asked the question differently and didn't try to turn it into a "who's a fan" message board. What we found was optimists and pessimists all seem to come up with relatively the same 35-42 win predictions. this is why the opimist vs. pessimist argument is so inane and such a waste of time. People are playing teh I told you so game iwth people that agree with them. But when the pessimists agree with the optimists on their predictions the optimists say "that's not really what you predict, where's our search feature". It's like dealing with 3 year olds.

i'm really not trying to single out TheGame here for starting this thread & i hope it doesn't discourage him from posting other threads in the future... it's more a commentary on the overall mentality on this board... the labels are really meaningless & only undermine the otherwise great discussion we have going here... it's OK to have a varying opinion on a topic... it doesn't mean you have to side w/the hater or apologists' line of thinking on every single topic though.

My dream...

Double the win total from last year.
Isiah coaches the all star game and wins coach of the year.
then we get swept out of the playoffs and the questions all start again.

the nets look good, so there goes the 3 seed.
The heat are still playoffs. as are the bulls, detroit and cleveland (you gotta trust lebron averages a triple double this year).

there was an article with isiah where they asked him if the top 5 were set and the last 3 spots were equally open to the remaining teams.

I have to agree with that assessment.

Last night's win by the lakers without kobe showed me something...
it takes more than a year for a newly acquired player to acclimate to the situation and team...Odom has acclimated.

if all of the players that played last year for the first time on the team suddenly get 'comfortable' (francis, curry, qrich, nate, lee, frye and jerome).

Then we are looking 46 wins in the face.

looks like 40 wins is the kool aid mendoza line.

does anybody really remember what happened to the 'kool aid' drinkers? You know, where the term actually comes from?

We all know the origin of the Kool-Aid. And Isiah's brand is having the same effect on the Knicks.

BTW newbie, I'm the originator of the term Kool-Aid being used in association with this board.

I root for the Knicks. I root for them to win every game. The fact that I don't think they will win all 82 or even 40 doesn't make me a hater. It makes me someone with a damn opinion. If you don't like it, too bad.
