No excuses. Briggs is 100% correct. If the Knicks use this as an excuse for poor play and losing, then they are losers.

No excuses. I agree 100%. But it is a REALITY that it hurts your team when you lose your starting SF

Who really believes the team will use this as an excuse or that it will necessarily stop them from winning games? This team is DEEP. Thank GOD we drafted Balkman so we actually have a player who can help fill the void. I honestly don't see why there has to be so much negativity and pessimism about this team. Can we get some LOVE around here?

The Knicks have a BRUTAL schedule and having Jared would've helped, so let's not try to make it sound like he's some scrub that doesn't make a difference. We needed his defensive presence. Still we have Q and Balkman and even Lee, so I'm not worried about it at all. I still expect this team to be competitive.

Jefferies was brought in to fill a very specific and valuable role - perimeter defense, rebounding, passing. We'll miss that. He's a big minus to the equation. We're not good enough to be missing one of our clear cut starters and not miss a beat. I was hoping to go .500 with Jefferies. my guess is we'll go more like .400 without him. We have VERY few bigs. It also means Malik Rose will get minutes when he gets healthy, which is horrible.

Was Jefferies that clear cut as a starter? I mean, is he that much better than Q overall? I looked at him being the "clear cut" starter only because he brought the defense no other starter brought to the table. I don't really think he is much better than Q-if at all-when taking in the overall package of the player.

Yeah, he's a lot better than Q. Q's defense is mediocre (even though he tries hard) and he does NOT make up for it on offense.

IMHO, Q's D is waaaay above average. And if you think Q's O is bad, watch out for JJ.

I agree... Q is a good defender and is very physcial. I actually saw a little of that from Francis as well during the Nets game, but he certainly doesnt have the rep for it. To me those two guys are the ones that really need to play at a high level. You know Curry and Frye are going to have their problems, so its up to Francis and Q to help on the boards and play solid defense on probably the opposing team's better scorers.

Can't a player with surgery on their non shooting hand play some ball? I don't mean rush him in, but after a month or so, can't they get spot duty? Don't know the severity of the injury though, but it is a sensitive spot.

At least we can see basically Larrys team vs. Isiahs team. even with a year maturity of the rookies.

Balkman is a better Reezy, and we got Franbury, but it will be interesting.

I just hope we are not cooked by the 1st of the year.
