he had to say he's on Steph's side because he said "steph's not as good as has been said of him, or as bad", and he's afraid the first part of that comment could cripple Steph.

No he has to go give bring Steph some chocolates, give him a foot rub and take him trick-or-treating.

only after the ice cream party he promised them for scoring 120 points vs. the nets.

The comment I found interesting was along the line that "the whole team knows that Eddy is our 1st, 2nd and 3rd scoring option."

What do you want him to say? That hes on LBs side?

he didn't have to say anything. the convo was over but he made a point to stop SAS and say it. why? i have no idea...

I think he feels that hes doing what needs to be done to get the best out of marbury. Marbury is more likely to play his heart out for a guy who has his back unconditionally rather than someone who doesnt.

isiah is putting it all on him b/c this team is mentally fragile. he's pumping his chest...saying stuff like it's his responsiblity to have the players in shape, it's his responsiblity on how the players perform. it's all isiah...just the way he likes it.

this is a fascinating psychological study. unfortunately, the problem is that the team is not built correctly...and isiah will suffer the same fate as the coaches before him.

Isian recognizes that there is no leader on this team. So he is making himself the leader. Hes going to be the guy holding it down. Is that so strange? For a coach to be the emotional driving force behind his team?

I dont know - it always seems like SAS ACTS like hes about to ask some serious questions and when it comes time he kinda ***** foots around and accepts the BS answers and moves on... What a teast

he asked Isiah about Jalen Rose & made his comment about Marbury & Francis, & Isiah responded... there really wasn't much more he could talk about other than the Anucha Brown or Larry Brown stuff, & i don't think he wanted to go there.

No he could have been like "Why the **** is stephon marbury always sulking around actnig like a little child are you going to snap him out of that bull ****? NY is tired of it" lol

hahaha... true... how irresponsible of him to leave that out of the interview.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Wait but this team is supposed to be an uptempo team that doesn't coincide.

isiah has crippled this organization

I don't really think that's true actually. I mean, don't get me wrong, Isiah has done his fair share of f'ing up and the team isn't good very now. But, if he was fired, and someone else came in, they'd have a good foundation to build upon. The salary will slowly come down over the next couple of years and we have several great young players.

I don't see this organization as crippled (the way it was when Layden was here).

no, isiah is smart to do this. this takes almost all pressure off the players and they now know that if they don't perform, the guy that gets it is isiah. i'm just upset that he's pretty much absolving the players from any responsibility which got us to this point in the first place.

he's crippled himself. He's put all his eggs in Marbury's basket, and if Steph doesnt play happy Zeke is adios

True, but if that happens, Steph will have an even worse public image (if that's possible), and the next coach would never seek to create an environment to maximize his talents. If Steph has even one working neuron, it's time to grow the **** up.

One thing that is undeniable...

It all falls on Steph. Isiahs career, Curry's development, our record, and our playoff hopes (dreams?). Hes gotta have the best year of his career, and im not talking stats. Im talking substance.

He's building a tight knit unit. He's getting the players backs. He's doing the exact opposite of what Larry Brown did. Instead of calling out his point guard, he's calling some loser ESPN announcer who talked trash about the team without knowing what he was talking about. Donnie Walsh has said he builds an "us against the world" mentality in the lockerroom, and I think that will work well for this group, especially since it essentially is them against the world and few believe this mix can succeed. Will it actually work? Will it make a difference? Time will tell.

I agree with the others who said Isiah the coach gets a clean slate.

No he didn't expand on it at all..Dog asked him what teams do you think will be a surprise in the East...The Knicks were one of 3 teams he named...I was so shocked thinking about the answer that I don't remember the others...

I don't know why your shocked. A 14-17 game improvement over one year will shock people. Alot of people are expecting at least that. I wonder what he meant by surprising people? Wish he gave some type of win total.
