Who cares how much money the old man got? The point is IT'S FINALLY OVER. Time to move on to things that matter again.

This thread is becoming a Rorschach Test.

bingo.

My take is that Larry was forced to give back every penny the Knicks ever paid him. With interest.

Then why is it a private matter. I think Brown gets most of the money, but the Knicks get to pay in small amounts over a number of years. I sure would hate to be an insurance company, putting a bid in for the Knicks, a high, high risk team. I wouldn't be able to push my premium high enough to make any profit.

it's a private matter because they don't want to set a precedent either way. don't worry I'm sure someone like vecsey will get the scoop.

The precedent was already set in Detroit where LB got half of what was owed to him on the three years left on his contract...

that situation was much different and he agreed to it. this situation was embarassing to the league and the knicks. brown's camp will spin it like they won and camp cablevision will spin it like they won.

I hope he doesn't get a cent...He deserves $40 mil??? For what??? IF IT gets at least 40 wins and the playoffs, then he should get $80 mil!I'm telling you, some of you guys are a joke. LB deserves his money because he sabataged the team? He gets the bulk of the money for 23 wins? ROFLMAO. He definitely didn't try to win with them and if Marbury is the root of all evil here, then why the Knicks record without wasn't 22-0 when he wasn't playing? Marbury missed 22 games and the record was 5-17. They didn't even win half the games he was out. So all that Marbury hating to me goes out the window...

Not so fast my friend. The point is, if Brown gets most of his money, it makes Dol look stupid, which is what we want. But if Brown gets close to nothing, then Dol wins then we all lose.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Instead of telling us what you hoped would be the case, can you tell us what you think logically happened?

Well my friend, in case you missed my last post, Larry was paid half of what he was owed in his last buyout agreement with the Pistons...So it would make sense to me that he agreed to a similar percentage given the similar circumstances....If you need any other clarification of post that I already written, please let me know...

and if the knicks were going to win...this wasn't going to be swept under the rug.

30 minute oprah special had dolan and isiah blame lb for everything and said they had a stack of papers "that high" with evidence to fire with "just cause". so if they were going to win...then a settlement wouldn't have been agreed to.

stern DID NOT want to make a ruling here as it would set a precedent.

so logical thinking says he told dolan to pay up, sweep it under the rug, and move on.

Here's a question no one asks: 'Why didn't Dolan or Zeke fire Brown before the season ended, if they planned to do it anyway, as some are saying'.? I mean just how bad did things have to get, to finally get rid of him? Why didn't they?
