You either have that fire inside of you to be the best or you don't. Shaq had it. Ewing had it. Curry doesn't have it.
That's not a knock on Curry, that's just who he is. The NBA highway is littered with physically gifted players who didn't have what it takes to be great.
Instead of trying to make him what he isn't, a dominant franchise player, why don't they try to optimize what he is, a complementary post player.

usually, when somebody makes a change in their outlook, personality, etc...and it's drastic, it's b/c of some life altering event. could be something like getting fired, being in a car crash, a death of someone close, etc. so far, this kid has been babied his entire nba life. and then given a $60 mil contract on top of that. there's NO PRESSURE for this kid to change. and if it's not coming from within now, then it probably won't until he experiences a dramatic event. and even then it's not guaranteed.
this is more about eddy as a person and competitor. and this is what frustrated bulls fans to no end. if you're happy with a guy that sometimes shows up and sometimes doesn't, then that's cool. but in terms of the knicks, and the ultimate goal of trying to win a title, these kind of players don't usually fit in or help the cause. and it doesn't help that the rest of the roster is fragile as well.
40+ transactions and we're still looking for an oncourt leader, a lockerroom leader and a franchise player. it's tough to support isiah and what's he doing with this team and eddy curry is a great example of it.
