Orlando is good but not head and shoulders better than the knicks.

I like Howard. I think the dude is a souped up dale davis. He is not that good offensively. He's pretty straight up. Darko is gonna be good. He is not dirk. Darko has a blue collar game. Add grant hill and jameer and they are pretty good.

The knicks have some good players too. The knicks back court is way better as a group. The front court has god balance too. Knicks don't have a rebound champion on the squad but they have skills up front.

Can't count our knicks out just yet.

Howard averaged 12.5 rebounds per game as a 20 year old. That is far more impressive than anything anybody on the Knicks has done, at any point in their career.

Briggs: first I must apologize and give you credit on Josh smith, I still don't think he will be a superstar as many like to think, but he will be a hell of a player, he is developing a set shot, his defense has gotten better and his overall game play has improved, I agree, he is 3x the player ariza is... And I like ariza a lot... The Hawks team IMO may make some noise.... I like them better than orlando..

I dont understand why they took Jameer Nelson when they already had Steve Francis. So weird.

I see teams like that and I honestly get jelous.

It must be a great time to be a Magic fan. A ferocious big man who cant even legally buy a beer yet and not one diva on the roster, another extremely talented big man in Darko, a rising star PG in Nelson, a gifted shooter in Redick and a quality veteran player in Hill. That my friends is the beauty of truly rebuilding. Sure, they had 3 down years but atleast they didn't have a 100+ payroll and still losing 40+ games a year.

Why can't my team do this.

Let me see, their ferocious big man is inconsistant and still trying to find his game in this league ..hmmm like Curry, their talented big man who was the number two pick a few years back is a complete bust, their rising star point guard is a shoot first guard who plays no D....their gifted shooter hasnt played at this level and wil be sure to be exploited on the defensive end when he gets minutes..their quality veteran like Hill hasn't played a full season in seven years...Their 3 down years is more like 10 down years...But wait, the grass is always greener so they must have a better upside...U know that discription reminds me alot of the Knicks minus the money, but that doesnt matter...Let rrot for Orlando who if lucky will be the eight or ninth seed in the conference...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3818LOL @ a second yr big men straight out of high school posting these numbers his second yr in the league blowing away any numbers Curry has put up going on his 6th yr in the league. He has absolutely no conditioning problems, he's only 20 and amongst the leaders in rebounding last yr. Curry will never lead this league in rebounding ever, you can BOOK that.
http://www.sportsline.com/nba/teams/stats/ORL He's averaging more points in preseason than Curry
http://www.sportsline.com/nba/teams/stats/ORL/preseason/DEFENSIVE/yearly He's grabbing double digits in boards something Curry will never do in his NBA career, you can BOOK that also. Curry won't even be the leading rebounder on his own team which is comical in itself.

What are you talking about, are you serious? Dwight Howard outperforms Eddy Curry in nearly every single category AND there are no questions about his desire, shape or heart. Couple this with the fact that he is only entering his 3rd year in the league and already a better player than Curry, who is entering his 5th year, should tell you all that you need to know.
their rising star point guard is a shoot first guard who plays no D
Jameer Nelson is not a Shoot-First PG by design, he was playing the system that's given to him last year where Brian Hill asked him to take more shots. Jameer is an excellent passer and plays extremely well within the team concept(see his 4 years at St. Joes) You are totally off base with your take on Jameer Nelsons defense as well. This is by far the most ridiculous part of your post. Just because a player does not get many steals, does NOT mean he is not a good defender. Nelson is damn near a ball hawk and constantly keeps pressure on opposing guards. Just a laughable and completely inaccurate statement on your end.
....their gifted shooter hasnt played at this level and wil be sure to be exploited on the defensive end when he gets minutes
Funny, you weren't saying that about the Knicks rookies who hadn't played at this level last year, I guess it only applies to other teams players. I have never been a fan of Redick as a player but with a player like Dwight Howard inside, he's going to see an awful lot of open shots and he WILL make them. I think a lot of people don't gave him enough credit(and I'm one of them) for the changes he made to his game. Also, what guard on the Knicks doesn't get exploited on the defensive end, yet I don't see you complaining about them. Again, this must only apply to other teams players.
..their quality veteran like Hill hasn't played a full season in seven years
Ok so Hill hasn’t played 82 games in 7 years, that doesn’t mean that since he is healthy now we should consider as an injury risk. Sure he is at much greater risk than most players but he’s not really why I even want the Magic roster. If he was on the Knicks you'd be talking him up as going back to his all-star ways this year but again, another teams player means you treat them harshly. I understand, it's just how you work.
...Their 3 down years is more like 10 down years...But wait, the grass is always greener so they must have a better upside...U know that discription reminds me alot of the Knicks minus the money, but that doesnt matter...Let rrot for Orlando who if lucky will be the eight or ninth seed in the conference...
How is it 10 years? From 1996 to 2003 the Magic were in the playoffs 6 out of 7 seasons. I only used the last 3 years because that is when they traded McGrady and decided to go in a different direction and rebuild, I shouldn't be surprised that you wouldn't understand that.

The problem with you is that you have such tunnel vision that you can't look at the bigger picture. The Magic have a much better roster, filled with younger players and one of the most dominating young big men in the game, who by the way is light years ahead of our center, as well as the future cap space to pull off a major signing or trade. But of course since it is another team and not the Knicks, most of you will just put your cheerleading suits on and start spinning the propaganda machine. It won't do you harm to actually look at things in a real manner instead of this crazed homer view that many of you share.

Its precisely the money factor that I would take the Orlando roster over the knicks roster. Its flexibility. I'll give you that the knicks have more talent- which I wouldn't necessarialy agree with- but its not overpaid and underperforming. And unlike baseball, its extremely hard to trade underperforming, overpaid players in the NBA.

And Dwight Howard is poised to be a dominating big man- and recent NBA Champions have featured dominating big men- Duncan & Shaq.

Curry is poised to turn into Oliver Miller.
