Let me see, their ferocious big man is inconsistant and still trying to find his game in this league ..hmmm like Curry, their talented big man who was the number two pick a few years back is a complete bust,
What are you talking about, are you serious? Dwight Howard outperforms Eddy Curry in nearly every single category AND there are no questions about his desire, shape or heart. Couple this with the fact that he is only entering his 3rd year in the league and already a better player than Curry, who is entering his 5th year, should tell you all that you need to know.
their rising star point guard is a shoot first guard who plays no D
Jameer Nelson is not a Shoot-First PG by design, he was playing the system that's given to him last year where Brian Hill asked him to take more shots. Jameer is an excellent passer and plays extremely well within the team concept(see his 4 years at St. Joes) You are totally off base with your take on Jameer Nelsons defense as well. This is by far the most ridiculous part of your post. Just because a player does not get many steals, does NOT mean he is not a good defender. Nelson is damn near a ball hawk and constantly keeps pressure on opposing guards. Just a laughable and completely inaccurate statement on your end.
....their gifted shooter hasnt played at this level and wil be sure to be exploited on the defensive end when he gets minutes
Funny, you weren't saying that about the Knicks rookies who hadn't played at this level last year, I guess it only applies to other teams players. I have never been a fan of Redick as a player but with a player like Dwight Howard inside, he's going to see an awful lot of open shots and he WILL make them. I think a lot of people don't gave him enough credit(and I'm one of them) for the changes he made to his game. Also, what guard on the Knicks doesn't get exploited on the defensive end, yet I don't see you complaining about them. Again, this must only apply to other teams players.
..their quality veteran like Hill hasn't played a full season in seven years
Ok so Hill hasn’t played 82 games in 7 years, that doesn’t mean that since he is healthy now we should consider as an injury risk. Sure he is at much greater risk than most players but he’s not really why I even want the Magic roster. If he was on the Knicks you'd be talking him up as going back to his all-star ways this year but again, another teams player means you treat them harshly. I understand, it's just how you work.
...Their 3 down years is more like 10 down years...But wait, the grass is always greener so they must have a better upside...U know that discription reminds me alot of the Knicks minus the money, but that doesnt matter...Let rrot for Orlando who if lucky will be the eight or ninth seed in the conference...
How is it 10 years? From 1996 to 2003 the Magic were in the playoffs 6 out of 7 seasons. I only used the last 3 years because that is when they traded McGrady and decided to go in a different direction and rebuild, I shouldn't be surprised that you wouldn't understand that.
The problem with you is that you have such tunnel vision that you can't look at the bigger picture. The Magic have a much better roster, filled with younger players and one of the most dominating young big men in the game, who by the way is light years ahead of our center, as well as the future cap space to pull off a major signing or trade. But of course since it is another team and not the Knicks, most of you will just put your cheerleading suits on and start spinning the propaganda machine. It won't do you harm to actually look at things in a real manner instead of this crazed homer view that many of you share.
