dude, i dont understand how in this world you couldnt like those teams.

they repped ny to the fullest, win, lose, or draw.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Nah, they didn't pass enough or shoot well enough, and they didn't surround Ewing with enough guys who could still play...

Ewing never played with another player who could take the pressure off the defense.

Scotty Stirling's moronic trade of the first round pick that became Scotty Pippen for Gerald Henderson altered the balance of power in the NBA for over a decade.

Im kinda with Phillin here. The team in retrospect grows in stature as the years pass.

They were offensively challenged and could not hold a lead.

Starks last two years were not so cool. He flaked out a few times on the team. He was cool, don't get me wrong, but we remember a few good moments and forget the rest. Im not talking about game 7 only!

Oak was great, but he was starting to slow down and we got good value for him. It was time for a change.

We had Strick and Jax but let the slip and banked on Charlie to do too much.

They were a good team, and maybe could have one a title if the cards were right, but not a great team.

Sure it beats the crap thats been at MSG the last 6 years, but thats another story. A sad story.

It would be nice for the team to have an identity. I don't even know if it would have to be thug defense. I know I enjoyed the Spree Camby run also.

Spree and Camby knew how to play. They could run the floor, pass, score, play some D. In Camby's case he could board and block shots. But they didn't have the right guys around those two, and the Camby and Nene deal was another disaster.

I think you'd have to give up A LOT to get Nocioni

Not really. Deng you'd have to give up alot for, Nocioni not so much...
can you give an example of an offer the knicks could make that you think the Bulls would agree to for Nocioni?

We should be finished dealing with that team anymore. Nothing but dissapointments when we deal with them. They got Cartwright years ago, we got Oak, but who got the better end of that deal. I thought getting rid of Cart was a big mistake years ago and it turned out to be true. Now we deal with stinky onion agian and we might have ended up with a center who may not amount to nothing and the bulls get great picks in this last draft and have a chance to trade with us, provided we don't do so well this year, and get good picks again. We've pretty much helped stinky onion get better 'again'! Defensivly they look great. I expect a thourough beating from chicago again this year. And I hate to say it, possibly thanks to the help of a native chicagoan, Zeke. But we'll see what happens.

Just in case your wondering what stiinky onion means, the name 'chicago' translated means 'stinky onion'.
I'll never trust this' team again.

The real Knicks played for Red Holzman and won titles, the thug Knicks did nothing but lose to Jordan, or, if he was playing baseball, choke in the finals.

Exactly, exactly, exactly.....you hit it right!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Frye will never become a 20 and 9 player. Are you serious? You do understand that after he reaches a certain level, he will be subject to double teams right? I see 15 and 6 written all over him.

Guys please

6 RPG? The double teams are gonna affect his rebounding?! The guy averaged 6 RPG as a rookie with limited, inconsistent minutes off the bench.

Frye cant average 20/10? And your basis for those comments are? LOL.

He averaged 13/6 last year with limited minutes in his first year. So he will improve by 2 points a game as his career progresses? Oh yeah. Double teams. So Frye is only a so-so player but hell have to command double teams for the rest of his career?

Why 15-6? I think hell actually regress. I bet he'll average 5/2 for his career. Cause of the double teams.

Take a look at the great big men in the history of the NBA. Now, post all the players whose avg. were 20/10.

Then look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself whether or not Frye has the talents of those players.

You can't be focused.

What does Frye's rebounding numbers have to do with the overall thugness/persona of this Knicks squad.

It starts with Isiah, in my opinion. He was the leader of the biggest bunch of badasses, arguably in the history of pro sports. The Bad Boys were Bad Asses. It seems that he has guys like Balkman and Lee who are hustlers and are making big plays. Whether they are going to get that mindset Isiah had back in the day, only time will tell.

Where did I say he'd average 20/10? You've got some kind of 20/10 obsession. All I said was he'd surely improve from his 13/6 rookie #s.

My bad, I was trying to reply to izybx's nonsense about Frye avg. 20/10. Yeah, I am obsessed with anyone trying to make a second-year player out to be one of the all-time NBA greats.

We won 23 games last year.

Good numbers on a bad team.

yao was 20/10 last year wasn't he?
okur was 18/9
and shaq was 20/9

those are the only three with 20 points.

I see frye in okur company.

camby was 12/12
brad miller 15/8
ben wallace (the "second coming") 7/11
kaman 12/10 (just signed a huge contract didn't he?)
ilgauskus 15.6/7.6

Curry 13.6/6
frye 12/6
bogut 9/7

all kool aid all the time.

I don't weant the thugness back unless it comes with better players. Look all the way back to 25 years ago, thugness has not won an NBA championship. Excellent players have. The Detroit badboys were thugish, but they were also excellent in every aspect of the game. They were anchored by a hall of fame backcourt and had borderline all-stars at every position.

The thug Knicks got beat by better teams every time: The Bulls, The Rockets. Neither of those teams were thug squads. The lakers and the Spurs were not thug squads.

Honestly those thuggy Knicks teams were some of the ugliest basketball I have ever seen, and when the silky shooting Houston showed up and the highly athletic Sprewell (He was a thug off the court, TOUGH on the court), New York fans were happy to see some players who were better, not thuggier.

I don't care about bone crushing fouls. I don't care about fear unless the other team is afraid of losing, not getting hurt. I don't care if they wear tu-tus and hang out at the christopher street pier as long as they are good.

Tough? I am fine with. Thugs? I am not too interested. Good? That is what I am talking about.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
