izybx, I agree. No one can argue that Layden was worse but its also hard to argue Isiah is good.

You know what, if IT was a good GM nobody would care about him saying anything.

But since he is worse than Layden at this point, I hate everything that comes out of his mouth.

Isiah worse than Layden, what year did you start watching the Knicks?

Pre Isiah 37 wins.
Post Isiah is in its 4 years. If he doesnt win at least 45 games after 4 years then he should be fired.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Isiah has done many cheap petty things in his life but the Bird comments were not among them. rodman made them. a reporter asked Iiah about them. He just repeated them with a laugh.

Really??? I never heard that part of the story before.

I dug around last time this issue came up. I found the following:
"I think Larry is a very, very good basketball player. He's an exceptional talent. But I have to agree with Rodman. If he were black, he'd be just another good guy."

Source: Follow That Bird

He later apologized, and said he was kidding.
Source: Isiah defied the odds

Big deal, or tempest in a teapot? You decide.

Here's what Zeke said about Bird

During the 1987 Eastern Conference Finals, Isiah and the Detroit Pistons faced off against Larry Bird and the favored Boston Celtics. In Game 5 in Boston, Detroit led by a point with five seconds left and maintained possession. Isiah attempted to inbound the ball, but it was stolen by Bird, who quickly passed the ball to Dennis Johnson for the game-winning layup. This play is considered one of the more embarrassing moments of Isiah's playing career. Boston went on to win the series in seven games. Following the defeat in Game 7, Isiah was asked about Bird's performance in the series. Isiah responded that, "If Bird were black, he'd be just another good guy."

Zeke is awful folks

GET IT, GOT IT!....... GOOD!

your obsession with Isiah and Marb has become stalker-like. This thread is pathetic

The leader of the Bad Boys was Zeke so by him restating what Rodman said off record, only for the media to hone in on his final words on the matter drives the point home. Basically he put his stamp of approval on a classless remark. When people talk trash, act like an Ass and all tough, they eventually get dealt with and that's what Malone did to Zeke. Fans thought Greg Anthony was a tool before wait and see what he acts like now if he shows up in the media again.

This is really the whole thing. People are talking about this because IT is on the hotseat. If the Knicks had won 50 games last year, IT could have called GA momma a h** and people would be saying she probably is one, which is why GA could not hit the side of a barn with his jumpshot (just kidding). I mean do you really care if IT is the classiest person in the world. As long as he is not committing crimes, the only thing that matters is will the Knicks win. Everyone loved LB even though it was clear before last year that he was a backstabbing sell-out that had zero loyalty to his team (unless you went to NC). However, he also was a winner and thus, people turned a blind eye to it. My point being, if you would not care how classy IT was if the Knicks were winning, why bring up now just because the team is losing.
But since he is worse than Layden at this point, I hate everything that comes out of his mouth.

I don't see how you come to this conclusion. As izybx, posted this was the Knicks pre-IT:

PG Charlie Ward -Bum
SG Allan Houston -Injured
SF Latrell Sprewell-Fading
PF Antonio McDyess-Injured
C Kurt Thomas- NOT A CENTER

Key Subs
PG Howard Eisley-HAHA
SF Shandon Anderson -HAHA
PF Clarence Weatherspoon -LOL
C Othella Harrington-OMG ROFL
C Mike Doleac- He's Mike Doleac
G Frank Williams- Please

We are better at every position. In fact, one could argue that our bench is more talented than the pre-IT starting five (especially since Houston was hurt). I think we have to see how this team does this year before we make grand conclusions as to how good of a job IT has down in building the team. Last year was a waste and IMO not a good indication of how good this team can be.

Yet we won 37 games in Laydens last full season. We look at 37 wins now as a good season, lol. :)

You are perpetuating a lie there. Rodman came up with that original quote. The reporters then ran to IT, sitting at his locker after a tough loss and asked if he agreed with what Rodman said. IT looked up and said "yeah, I guess you can say that." There even was questions whether IT understood what the reporter was asking after that game. Knock IT all you want but keep the facts staight...
