that really sucks considering how tough the first 18 games are. crap. Balkman will get to prove himself early, I guess.

exactly!

relying on balkman and richardson (who sucked last year against taller, quicker players) could kill us..

not that i expected jefferies to shut anyone down, but he at least stands a chance against some of these guys.

Sucks. I really wanted to see his D against some of the big 3s right out of the gate. Was really looking foward to seeing if he was really this shut-down defender he's supposed to be. This is messed up but I guess we'll all see right away if Q-Rich and Balkman was enough after all (with a little Jalen Rose now back in the mix). Say Jeff. misses the first 18 and we manage to stay afloat (10-8 or better)... Should we have saved the 30 million then? Don't mean to kick the poor guy when he's down but it's just a thought...

The Wrist is a VERY complex area and its relatively weak like other key joints, such as the shoulder, Ankle and Knee. If you really have a bad break your range of motion can be effected forever. Still it seems that it may not be a very bad break so he may just be able to get back on the floor sooner than expected.

Well assuming it's a broken scaphoid bone in his wrist, they'll insert a small screw or pin.
Are you sure they'd do that for a nondisplaced fracture? I thought that would only be done to keep the bone in the right position if it had been displaced. I don't know a lot about this, though.

Let the guy heal. We signed him to a 5-year deal, the last thing we want is him rushing to play and making his wrist worse or causing a permanent limitation in his range of motion. This actually could prove to be a good thing. Q-Rich can now start and Rose and Balkman should get some PT, which will keep everyone happy from a PT point of view. We will miss Jeffries' defense but Q-Rich will bring more offense and is not that bad of a defensive player. Plus, this opens the door for Balkman to get 5-10 minutes a game. I really want to see what Balkman can do against NBA-caliber competition.

Ugh. This sucks, Jared was going to be a big part to the Knicks this year and I was excited for him to show everyone on this board what kind of player he really is. Lets hope he comes back real soon, he's going to be sorely missed.

Like they all said--- this opens the door for Balkman to contribute. It's funny--- a few days before the first game, the reports were that Balkman looked overwhelmed in practice... now his showing in exhibition thus far has people thinking otherwise.

Balkman looks cool as ice. I think the dude will fill in an play the way he knows how.

Damn man it does suck but after finally seeing for myself the many question marks the knicks had fly away in just one pre-season game, I'm ready to stand behind these players. Q-rich is back, balkman is not afraid, and David lee is a bad ass.

Let's go!

Come on man don't be afraid to profess your love. I know last year she broke your heart after that dirty old man ran her in the gutter and everyone talked about her like a whore. You used to love her man, that shouldn't change cuz she has changed her ways! Don't be afraid to fall in love with her again.

The waist of the scaphoid is most common fracture site in carpal bones and these types of breaks happen usually due to falling on an outstretched hand. Thats not to say that Jeffries doesn't have a break in another carpal bone (like perhaps the triquetrum) - I haven't been forwarded his images.

In the event that it is a fracture in the scaphoid waist, off hand, I'd say around 90% heal eventually. Worst case scenario (~10%) - the blood supply is disrupted and you get nonunion or proximal avascular necrosis. The odds of AVN are notably increased if you instead fracture the proximal pole of your scaphoid since its blood supply enters at the waist. That as you might imagine would not bode well for Jeffries.

Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

IT has really bad luck.
I guess LB is a hidden Voodoo - it's all his fault.
Seriously - now we are same as last year so we really can show if we can be better without any moves
