10-12 team leagues suck. Everyone has a killer team and you can't get a grip on how to get over the hump. The free agent pools are too deep wit 10-12 team. With 20 at least you can get the excitement of getting that blue chipper before someone else does. Playa is the master of that!

Is this head-to-head or rotisserie? I prefer rotisserie, but I know the board favorite is head-to-head, so I'm deciding whether or not I'm joining.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This is a head to head league.

Joe says he has two leagues, head 2 head and rotis.

Would it be too much to ask for a sticky?

I'm in. Anyone up for increasing the stakes the value of a drink ($5) as incentive for people to stay motivated in this league?

Top 4 teams get booty. Championship ceremony toward the end of the NBA season... right around the time the Knicks clinch a playoff berth.

What do y'all say?

You should make it a $50 per person league with prizes for the top 5.

no no... you got it wrong, and I'm with you. I dont like money exchanging between friends except in a low stakes poker game.
I have an account w/ racebook.com
very professional.. they pay very quickly when you need to take cash out of your account, and your wagers are processed usually with in an hour of the games end.
I was more looking for discussion on if someone else does the same thing. I was blown away by how fun it is and how little money you need to enjoy yourself.

my only knock on fantasy sports is there's too much time commitment. Betting is easier... you can do it whenever.

fish, and anyone else, what do you think about a game like this:

Normal fanstasy basketball rules but the "season" is played on a 1 night basis. Your team can consist of any (7) players that are playing games that night. There is no real draft, just pick 7 players and you are put into a blind (random) league with other players (or a private league with invites if you want). maybe there is a free game, maybe everyone chips in a small pot of $5. Winner takes all.

Next night is a new game and it all starts over.

I would be VERY interested in hearing feedback.

It sounds interesting, let's think about this: I guess you can have leagues (The leagues exist for one night at a time right?) that you have to "buy in", or free leagues for the weak-kneed.

If this is something you have on UK I guess you can have an "open" league where any member can jump in for the night. You could even mix pay and free, only if you pay, you are eligible to win a prize, if you don't pay you get to feel good.

You may have to think over how many player combos you want, on dry NBA nights there may not be enough variety and a lot of guys will duplicate lineups.

That's all I got now.

nba.com does something like this. their game is called virtual gm and its quite addictive but its played throughout the season. The one night thing makes it gambling more than a fantasy game.

firefly: Basically, VGM gives your 50 points and lets you pick 5 position players and a coach. The winning coach gets you 5 points and the players depending on their stat line get their points. Their VGM value is set at how good their stats are. Example: Duncan will cost 18 VGM points but Stromile Sift will only cost 8 points. You mix and match a roster of 5 players + a coach that equals 50 points. Depending on how good they do (rebounbing, FT%, FG% etc) decides how many points you get for the night and where you are ranked in the group. At the end of the season, the guy with the most points wins the league.

Martin that sounds good to me. Let me know if that type of fantasy basketball is set up. Im game.

Thanks Enyspree, I should have been in that league in the first place. Im sure there is some dead weight manager in there already.

Silverfuel yes I would be interested to join in your league also. Free or chip in? I don't mind a chip in with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. I'm involved in a couple moolah prize fantasy football league and it is fun and of course I'm doing well so far.

A lot of talk about money games here. Who is gonna hold the money? How are the winners gonna be paid? Its not like we are all old war buddies.

There are a few fantasy games where you can pay to play. Someone should start one.

We mail the checks to the most honorable in the group (i.e: Silverfuel) and he will pay out at the end of the season. Sound good?

Who's to know who is most honorable? I don't trust anybody in this day and age. But silverfeul, regardless, I may be interested in your league.
