What is your Scouting Analysis of Jamal Crawford

Jamal Crawford can easily be a 20-5-5 player and shoot 45%+ if he concentrates and takes sound shots.

On defense he should be causing havoc with his speed and length. should be in the top 3-4 in steal easily. Has the foot speed to be a lock down defender but doesn't always do that. He has to want to be great and not settle for gimmie jump shots he should force the situation as much as possible and get to the line about 8-10 times a game.

What JC needs to work on is effort if he does that he might be able to accomplish everything I said in the post easily.

Strengths: great crossover and good overall athleticism. When hot can really light it up. Pretty clutch and not afraid to take the last shot.

Weaknesses: Very inconsistent shooter. Poor decision maker, especially shot selection. weak defender.

I think if Jamal were to be more disciplined in his shot selection, he could really be a great shooting guard. He can drive and finish and when he's on it's almost automatic. He generally takes 2-3 impossible long range fadeaway shots with a defender all over him/game and that really sinks his FG%.

What bugs me is that he doesn't utilize any of that to his advantage. With his speed he should be getting to the line 8 to 12 times a game like Marbury, AI, Baron and others do.

do you think crawford being on a team with marbury, francis and rose is hindereing his development of becoming a player like that? i someitmes think we are better off trading out vets and seeing what crawford, frye and even curry can do.

Crawford's had six years and hasn't become that kind of player. His problem's not Marbury or Francis. It's himself.
