I still see a lot of kool aid going around. This was a 23 win team last year. Seeing predictions having us doubling that seems a little far fetched, but we shall see. Solace are you being serious or are you just being sarcastic?
I figure this team should've won at least 38 games last year, which isn't too much to ask, since they won 33 the year before with a less balanced team. I expected more than that, but I admit to being overly optimistic about the effect LB would have on the team. I thought he'd bring in stability and a more disciplined game. So I was expecting over 40 wins. I knew that LB was good for an avg of about 10 wins more in his 1st year, so I was optimistic.
I think this year this team will have a better rotation and with a more positive attitude from the whole team, we should see at least a .500 team. You can't compare our SL from last year to what we'll have this year. As i've said before its better.
Steph, QRich, Barnes, AD & Curry vs. Most likely, Steph, Francis, Jared, Frye & Curry or even Steph, Jamal, Jared, Frye & Curry. I like this years possible version much better. With a more set lineup and rotation, I think this team will jell faster and give us a better shot to win as the year goes on.
Why specifically do you feel this team can't come close to doubling the win total from last year? If that's what you really feel?
We should've won 38 games last year? Well, guess what... the proof is in the pudding. WE DIDN'T. There's no sarcasm. We flat out stink until proven otherwise. Hopefully this is the year we prove otherwise, but we were *that* bad last year, regardless of the coach.
This team is not well rounded. It's more balanced, but we have a lot of poor defenders, a lot of guys that HAVE to get touches, a lot of guys who are still all potential, and a lot of guys who get bumped around. Our interior defense is piss poor. I hope that we find a way to take our strengths and use them to our advantage, but this squad still has some glaring weaknesses. We're a 23 win team until proven otherwise. The fact that I'm predicting 15 extra wins is a bit of a leap of faith on my part, and quite frankly, I think I may be being a bit generous. That being said, Isiah's job is on the line, and I think they will play hard for him. Predicting a jump 23 wins to 46 wins is more than a leap of faith; it's almost a complete 180. It's great on paper, but it remains to be seen. It's really only a 5 win jump from the most recent season in which the team had a coach who was trying to win. What's your prediction?
Or if you take out half the losses, make them wins, add two, and then factor in a randomness factor of seven, you get 62 wins.... so we should easily win 19376734938 games this season.
... Or we could stop making excuses for a team that played awful last season and look forward. Five wins higher than two years ago is a noticeable improvement. Fifteen wins higher than last year is a significant improvement. We have a lot of youth that is still developing and won't hit their primes until years down the road. I hope in the season after next, we could be in the 43-48 wins range, but it takes time. I'm not going to get myself disappointed by putting impossible standards on a young team.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
