Eddie Curry right now is better than Olowokandi every was. If he can put in the work in his conditioning, defense, and double-team recognition, he can become a top-5 center in this league. He has that much natural talent. Hopefully he gets there, but even without working on his game, he is better than Olowokandi.

yes, the kandi man was more can he average double digit POINTS.

We're asking curry to be a franchise player and one of the best in the league at his position or we aren't satisfied.

He's already at 16/6.

The article is not that far off, I do agree with blueseats. I just don't see how francis and marbury are going to fit in a motion offense. Both guys need the ball, and neither are great shooters, at least not good enough to play off the ball. I really never understood why we needed both guys. I do think we will win more games this year, but I am still concerned about how good we will actually be...

If you mean, "been in the league 6 years and a starter for 5" by already, then yeah....you're right, but I'd have expected a little more from him by now, especially in the rebounding department.

I think the main problem is we have a team full of very good to great one on one scorers but none that can score in the team concept of the game. They all have to dominate the ball to be effective. It's like we got a team of offense only Anthony Mason's (dribbling in the post for 21 out of 24 seconds) when we need a couple more John Starks and Derek Harpers.

before last year, marbury basically pleaded to be moved to off guard...so to me, he's ready to not need the ball, but prefer to receive it in the flow of the offense.

But that request was shot down.

This year, it appears both are off guards, or simply guards (am I spelling guards correct)

Or more like scoring guards who dominate the ball and cause turbulence and team division in the locker room.

Huh? As off guard he can dominate the ball MORE because his job isn't to pass it.

You know, I remember 10 years ago when Chris Childs said that he didn't want to start and Ward should start because of whatever stupid reason. He caught some hell because he got that 4 year 24 mil contract at the time and was supposed to be our starting PG, and he backed down in the face of the compeition.

Now Marbury basically did admit last year that couldn't play PG the way LB wanted it played, when he KNOWS he is the best PG we have on the roster, and he wants to be moved to shooting guard because playing PG for LB is too hard and he should be revered for doing it for the team?

it is an interesting mental defect the number of contradictions posted by marbury (and witnessed on SAS) but in general, he's just like most brooklynites that I've encountered and currently hang with.

Proof is in the pudding, and this is the last year for everyone on the team playing for more than 2 year's in the league IMHO.

Nate seemed to play the point well in SL and the entire time I could easily see marbury playing the same role...skepticism is still there for whether or not the offense truly is as symetrical as the defense is (it's very zone up front and man in the back court IMHO).

The francis article was good, but still the jury is out on whether or not they will let not only the offense and game come to them, but if the knicks will let the "season" come to them.

Meaning, just keep playing and listening to coach...he's been drafted to a crappy team and participated in the building process first hand to the tune of back to back championships (and that team on paper is comparable to the non championship knick teams).

to start, the stas will all be flat for the back court as they will have to make a concerted effort to grasp the system and their teammates, however, I expect a few HUGE games from the backcourt as the front court settles into their roles as defenders and rebounders.

Should be interesting, but the back court is still a bit sketchy at the moment, based on quantity only.

IMHO.

Bottom line is that we have 50 win talent and yet have no clue how they will do. They are just as likely to win 45 games as they are 35. That in itself is the problem with the team. Only they can fix it. All the articles, predictions, maturing in the world doesn't matter until it shows results on the court. EVerything this author wrote about these players is 100% true. It's up to the players to decide whether this will continue or they want to put an end to it. But the results of the past don't lie and noone should deny or apologize for pointing it out. Once again, only the players can eliminate this reality. We are all hoping they figure it out.
