I think after this year, reflection on Isiah's job as a GM (rebuilding the knicks) will be looked on in a positive light.
if he suceeds it will be looked at as first a failure then a (another) change in plans to what we asked to happen 5 years agom or pretty much after it was clear McDyess wasnt going to be a 20/10 post player for us. I'm skeptical of anyone who's made some of the moves he's made. I just hope he either really suceeds or really fails, because otherwise we are looking at 5 years of mediocrity

Every time the knicks signed or traded for someone. Articles in the past would allways name the positives, then add the "But". You gotta look out for this, and you gotta hope he doesn't do this. And if he could only do this. And every one of the negatives all happen.
This might be the first roster change that there is no "BUT" to it by the papers. They like the signing and say its perfect. So im glad about that. Hopefully JJ works out great. Then Isiah gets hot as a GM, and starts making moves that workout.

there was a but attached to them because they were bad or questionable moves. JJ has/deserves a big butt. That's just the way it goes. Can't take it personal everytime someone makes a comment that is negative about the team. Especially when they are 23-59.
I'm with you Newyorknewyork. It's nice to make a move that makes sense and has everyone in agreement.
I just hope that people will like me

I'm warming up to the signing but I just don't get why we went after Balkman then. It just seems we are stacking talent at glutted positions and we don't have a backup center or anyone that can really shoot.

there won't be a glut if Isiah trades Jalen & Q Rich... maybe that's what you will see happen next?
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Hopefully...it'll be Jalen. I think if we trade QRich after the awful season he had, we'll get something more longterm and probably worse.

I'm praying like hell he doesn't trade Jalen (or Mo). I'm trying to support Zeke this year, but I do NOT trust him with expiring contracts that we finally need to let expire.

True, I wouldn't be too sad if he held on to them and let them die. NOt like we could get anything resembling a backup C for either of them anyway that wasn't a horrrible contract. Still we have such a glut of mediocre SFs it's tempting to try.

I still don't understand why some of us can't just realize that its hard as heck to build a team and even harder in NY. Isiah has had to use some funky moves in order to get to this point, but he really has been trying to put this type of team together all along. He's not finished yet but you can see that he has his kind of players and he's doing what he said he would do. I can't think of many other GM's who've been able to completely turnover a roster as bad as ours was inside of 3 years with the level of talent he's put together. If not for LB's total nutjob, we'd be already a year into this process. Still the fact remains that he's doing a good job. No the team isn't perfect and we still have some issues, but DANG, what team doesn't? Why does Isiah have to get everything right and no other GM is held to that standard?
Jared is a really good signing and I think he makes a BIG difference in how much success we have this year. Like Isiah said, now you can see what he's been aiming at. With adding one player, it brings things into focus, just what kind of team this could be. Now he has to make due with Francis and his quirky game, but maybe he can get thru to him in some way and make it work. If not then he'll know what he has to do. For now tho let's give him a chance to try and make it work.
