Jones - that was one of the funniest posts I have seen in a while - yet sadly true.

I had a heart scare and it was due to taking something that had Ephedra in it. I believe that Curry had a similar event. Like him I had every test known to man and nothing was found. Its a non issue in my book.

Now Curry the player may LOOK lazy, but I think that had more to do with his conditioning. When you're carrying extra weight you can look lazy, cuz you're tired. Even if you play ball all the time that doesn't mean you'll be skinny, if you aren't eating a reasonable diet. I don't believe he was last year. Hopefully he got serious and lost weight, while improving his conditioning, but without the use of dangerous weight loss drugs. I expect that he's gonna have a HUGE year in Isiah's system. This way I can laugh at all you guys who have been bashing Isiah and his players.

funniest thing I have read in awhile. Did it occur to you that the reason Eddie's conditioning is poor causing him to LOOK lazy, is because he IS lazy? I'm sure something will be HUGE... hopefully its not Curry's ass.

Hey, its never too late for the kid to do some growing up, and taking his BB career seriously.

funny, i posted a similar post and it disappeared magically, yet this post remains...way to go mods, reminding everyone of your disdain for the knick team you claim to support.

Dude get over yourself. People are not hear at this site (or running it!) because
they disdain the Knicks. Just because you allow yourself to ignore anything that
is bad about this team doesn't make you a better fan. Frankly I've started ignoring
most of your posts because they are so imbalanced. You never look at any issues
head on, just "RAH-RAH-RAH, I'm the best Knicks fan!" Good for you! How infantile...

I recall how much you were supporting TT before his second year with the Knicks!
"This is going to be his year!" you said. "He's going to prove you all wrong!" you said.
Well guess what he didn't.

Conversations are better when the participants are rational, analyze and discuss the
situations. Try reading a cheerleader's cheer book. That's what you sound like.
Now that's BORING.

Also, for your information, Briggs was all over how bad it was not to lottery
protect the picks traded for Curry from DAY ONE. And he was the ONLY one to
identify how dangerous that was. So give him a little credit for being analytical
and having some foresight. Something you have yet to have displayed.

He is a BIG signing, a little to BIG. I did say I would sign him to a 2 year MLE with a team option for 3--but look back and ask crzy--I wanted Gerald Wallace for the full MLE that year, and so did several other posters. I would NEVER sign JJ to a full MLE, no way, it wouldnt be a thought process. 2 year deals are fluid--number 1 it puts pressure on the player to perform[pretty much like the rookie contracts] and if they dont its a fluid movable contract. It was a reasonable thought to sign JJ to a 2 year deal with an option for 3 because if I am wrong, it doesnt hurt me long term.

JJ for the full MLE even for just a couple of years would have been an awful use of the MLE.

Who wouldn't have wanted GErald Wallace for the MLE? I'd assume CHAR would have matched any MLE offer though.

Absolutely right. It more the length of the deal than the amount per year that gets me.
I could have even forgiven the mistake of 3 years, but 5! Unforgivable.
Should have been team options if anything.

Man, get a grip. Unforgivable...did the guy kill someone or what? It was a bad sigining...that's all.

If the team turns it around and god forbid...Jerome "flippin" (as in burgers) James contributes in any constructive way. Then who cares about the signing. If JJ doesn't contribute then i'm sure we'll all here about it ad nausem.

I've found on this site that calling names is a very subjective thing. Some folks get called on it...some don't.

Which brings me to Briggs. This post he started this thread with is no different than the post about Isiah's character due to the newspaper article about Isiah's son from this other lady. This guy went on and on about how the kids statements and the Anucha Brown articles were proof that this guy was some kind of sociopath or something.

I came out and stated that the guy was an ***wipe blabbering libelous BS about something he knew nothing about. (I got beef about that)

So, name calling here is a very very very flexible and subjective thing. The post that started this thread is nothing more than the same.

Can you say Biopolar Disorder. Hmm, now there's a name.

Hey, its never too late for the kid to do some growing up, and taking his BB career seriously.

hey, the best knicks news I heard all summer is that Curry is training with Tim Grover in Chicago and for the first time in his career is playing in the pickup games at Grover's gym where guys like Odom and Brand and Walker have played in summers past.

I think with Curry it's been a maturity issue. we've seen Crawford mature a lot over two years, hopefully we'll see the same from Curry.

the grass isn't always greener...
Time to face reality
by Roland Lazenby / August 7, 2006
Once the Lakers finished their summer league play, Phil Jackson packed up the tapes of the games and sent them to Tex Winter, his longtime mentor and assistant coach who now serves as a team consultant.

Jackson wanted from Winter what he has always wanted – that perfect set of basketball eyes to look over the games, break them down in detail and determine if the team has found any players who can help once the games get serious this fall.

It’s something that Winter has done for Jackson since the days when they were assistant coaches and Winter was assigned to teach Jackson how to be a head coach.

Winter has always broken down the game tape and gone over it with Jackson, taking the time to point out players’ strengths and weaknesses as well as team strengths and weaknesses.

“I go over the tape with him,” Winter said. “He’s always liked that.”

This time around, Jackson and his coaching staff wanted to see what Winter thought of the play of the team’s young players, especially teen-aged center Andrew Bynum.

“We all were in hopes that he would really arrive,” Winter explained.

However, after studying the tape, Winter offered the truth. The 7-1 Bynum had “a couple of really good games,” Winter said, but the 84-year-old guru came away with questions about Bynum’s intensity, his lack of “fire in the belly. His energy is a question.”

Winter also raised questions about Bynum’s quickness, his reaction to the ball, to events on the floor.

Part of that lack of reaction time is due to his size, Winter said.

“He seems to still be getting bigger. He is huge, but the bottom line, in my opinion, is that we can’t rush him.”

Because Bynum is so big, and a true center, his development is going to take longer, Winter predicted. And that means bigger questions for the Lakers in terms of the upcoming season.

“The organization has to make some tough decisions," Winter said. "You bet. From what I saw of the summer league tapes, there’s just not a whole lot of players there on the roster who can make a difference.

It's only good news if it translates on the court. Right now it's just talk. It's like when TT was saying he was taking up boxing. Did that change him. I like the fact that Curry is taking the initiative and Grover has a good reputation. But until it translates on the court it means nothing to me.
I just hope that people will like me

Now I'll start off by saying I hope Eddy lives to 125 and gets to play basketball for 15 more years. BUT, IF his condition prevents him from playing basketball ANYTIME soon, it's NOT an excuse. This is d9wn Larry's lane. they did the DD, they live with the end product-- and God forbid anything drastic happens to this man---it will be on other people's shoulders.

Were are you getting this at? I thought we were past this a long, long time ago. No signs of heart trouble that we' can see.
I'll never trust this' team again.

that's why I'm happy that he's PLAYING basketball instead of boxing or running or lifting weights. I think it's a good sign.
