If the Knicks get Jeffries and then KMart, I'll say 46wins and I will be extremely happy, FINALLY, with the Knicks roster and the job that Isiah has done.

I'd give Isiah more credit if he got Jeffries and the decided NOT to get K-Mart!

6 wins, if we're lucky.

j/k, no officially I'll say 38 wins. This is a team that won 23 games last year.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Wouldn't it be something if we didn't get Jeffries and had to play the whole season with practically the same team but ended up with 46 wins... Doubling last years production.
It's not completely out of the range of possobolities.
It would be a true testament to LB's mismanagement last year.

Based on talent alone. How many games do you think this team should win??

34 wins as the roster is right now without Jeffries. I'll add two victories to my predicted total if the wiz do not match.

I'm trying to be realistic- there is talent, but there is baggage as well.

As it stands today, 33 wins with Coach Herb making it more interesting the last 25 games but falling short of a playoff.

Im not feeling it yet.

Hmm...
General consensus is about 35-38 wins.
It looks VERY similar to same thread last year.
The result was... not so good.
What is the reason that we will be much better? Same players, same roster problems, couch of less quality and under the gun (this never helped).
It will be great if they get to 30 but it will be a big struggle...

Without Jeffries and no other people brought in I'm not confident because I don't see any defense on the roster. Without Jeffries/another defender I say 36 wins.

I'm going to go with the general consensus and maybe add 2 to that making it 35-40 wins.

The reason I feel that that they will be better than the 23 wins is because basically this same team had around 37 wins prior to the fiasco of last year. Because they never understood the direction of the coach many games went the way of losses that could have turned into wins.

This year there is a better sense of commradity and optimism going into this season. There were positive expectations going into last season under Brown....but there also was an underlying plan by LB to squash some of that optimism in the way of getting diffrent players on the team.

The Knicks are not as bad as their record of last year. They're mediocre to me right now...and good enough to maybe get an 8th seed.

I think the KNicks will win 42-46 games. I really need to see Curry and what kind of shape and what he brings to the table this year. I think the Knicks more or less go as Curry goes. He determines to me if the Knicks will be winner or losers. Curry has to have a break out season atlest an 18 points and 10 rebounds for the year. If he does that I can see the KNicks winning 42-46.

I think we need to throw last season out the window. A lot of the losses were LB's doing I should say majority of them. Forget last year go to the Herb Williams and Wilkens season. Start with that are the KNicks better talented than that team? I think they are. Last year was an abberation a talented team with a lot of new additions including the coach. There wasn't any stability no matter any way you look at it. With lineup changes to middle of the year additions. To a coach who was looking for a buyout rather than wins to players who lost interest in the coach and coach who lost interest in them.

The way I see it LB took a 33 win team and made them into a 23 win team. Isiah I think will take a 33 win team and make them into a 43 win team. The Knicks were suppose to be better than 33 last year, I think they will be better than 33 this year. Its not that I have faith in Isiah to do this I just think the Knicks are more talented than what LB made them out to be.

Yes, Vmart has a good point. If not for LB's poor team play, we're easily a 46 win team. Maybe 90.

LOL! Of course theres ABSOLUTELY NO blame on the players, what kind of fan would do that?! I mean its so obvious that if Larry wasn't coaching last year this team would have been in the playoffs and contending! Knicks championship 06-07!

I'm actually with Vmart on this. I think last year if we stayed reasonably healthy and had a coach that played to our strengths rather than trying to turn water into wine, 35-37 wins is definately not out of reach. We may have even been able to do some damage control to the season if we stuck with the lineup that won 6 straight games and not bench guys for no apparent reason when they help you win.
Ok, done with ranting. Just figuring in Isiah at the helm (if nothing other than assuring management is on the same page as the coach, and hopefully motivating some of the bums who need it), last year's rooks tuned up and improving, Crawford stepping up and playing well and consistantly towards the end of the season (praying it continues into this season), and adding some hustle guys, finishing slightly over .500 isn't out of the question in my eyes.
But hey, it wouldn't be an off season if I didn't get my hopes up.

I seem to recall that last year, most (including me) were in the 40's- some, smoking kool aid, were in the 50s.
