The Nets series where we were embarassed and Marbury never showed up despite having a great regular season only to be abused by Kidd was the telling sign of where this team stands until 2009

I know how "uncool" supporting Marbury is, but that series was hard to watch.

We had Shandon Anderson in place of Allan Houston and Tim Thomas went down. The Nets doubled Marbury just about every posession, forcing the ball out of his hands. He failed yes, but had lots of help in doing so. Furthermore, at that stage of his career, Kidd was abusing just about everyone. Let's not pretend otherwise

It wasn't the double but the fact that the dummy tried to beat it by shooting over the top of it that turned that series into an embarassment.

KT and Penny were smart and skilled enough to play 4 on 3 beneath the foul line.

However they never saw the ball
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Kurt was successful at knocking down the open jumper, created mostly off pick and pops. Or drive and kicks (drawing doubles) for his baseline j. The man has little other offensive skills, come on.

Penny made some nice plays indeed. The problem was they were constantly being overshadowed by the 2 boneheaded plays that would follow.

We had no shooters and Marbury being doubled at the top of the key was non-stop. Watch Shandon Anderson highlights from that series dude. Marbury got him more open looks then he'll ever see in a playoff series. And he proceeded to build brick gymnasiums on both sides of the Hudson.

Marbury let the D dictate to him. Shandon was who NJ wanted taking shots. Frank knew Steph would hold the rock and just look for the kick-out guy. A little trust in other and its a different series

Kurt can make entry passes. 4 on 3 he didn't have to be Earvin.

Penny never lost his court vision either
