who's #20? the guy with the orange headband. had a nice layup in transition and than caught an alley-oop from Russell and threw it down!

I thought that was Russell. It just hit me that Russell is that other guy.

They have to be hiding Adeleke. I don't see any reason why he shoudn't get more burn than he deos. He has way more potential to make the club than Miller & Kostrphil so you would think that he would get a great look. The only explaination I could think of is they are checking him out in practice and hide him during the game.

I like how physical he plays though in his limited mins.

Balkman is special.

starting lineup:
C-Curry
PF-Frye(shooter)
SF-Balkman(need his rebounding, defense, energy)

no one can keep up with him as he dribbles in the open court and makes the perfect pass & superb defense.

How many steals does have have like 5?

With a mid range jumper & spot up jumper he could be an allstar. If he can maintain this quality play when the games count.

He can guard 2-4 position.
He has a knack for stls and blks
Has good handle and court vision
Is also a very good finisher.
Can run the break, lead the break, fill the lanes, & finish.

I don't think Bman will ever be an allstar. When's the last time an SF became an allstar just for his defense? A mid range jumper is a lot to ask.

I agree with everything you said, except the idea of him guarding 4's.

Also, he's more than just a energy guy. He energy is purposefully used. He's not running around for the sake of running around. He sets screens on the weakside and cuts to open areas on the baseline to either recieve a pass for a dunk, get into position to grab an offensive board/or tip it and keep it alive.

He also has a much better feel for the game than the previous scouting reports have given him credit for.

He probably won't. Richard Jefferson never even made the allstar team. I probably should have said allstar calibre. I don't know if he will be an allstar either. But with a mid range jumper & a spot up jumper to go along with his other skills if they were to translate when the games count. He could be an allstar calibre player. He makes plays. You win games with guys who makes plays like him.

I don't think he could guard every 4. But I think there are some he could guard and challenge.

yeah, I'm not sure he'll be remotely close to an all-star, but he has great footwork, dribbling, knowledge of where to be and speed. he's fun to watch. I think most people will be happy with the Balkman pick when the real games start, some stalwarts will be holding out for Marcus "shutout in summer league" Williams.

there was a nice article on realgm about how Isiah is great at finding these guys who understand the subtle fundamentals of the game. article also says he will never be out of a job in the NBA because he's such a tremendous scout.

crzy - Balkman at NBADraft.net

>>Balkman isn't a scorer, his handle is horrible. Raw offensive player, averaged under 10 ppg in his junior season ... Lacks any real range on his shot ... Very sloppy.

Turnover prone, needs to become better at protecting the ball off the dribble, and cut down on turnovers

I like the idea of having Balkman in that lineup to balance it out. Not sure Isiah would start Balkman over Lee, however.

I think Isiah tried to pick Balkman before he "ripened" so to speak. Similar to the Ariza pick.

that would be huge mistake because Balkman is much better at guarding SFs than Lee.
