Do you think the duo of Marbury and Francis can work out like Francis and Mobley?

personally i don't think it'll work because when Francis was at his best, he was dominating the ball in HOU w/Mobley playing off him shooting from the perimeter... Marbury will be dominating the ball in Isiah's offense & his game is all about penetration, which is what Francis needs to do to excell... & Francis' perimeter shot is subpar so i don't see him playing that 2 role well.

but I thought this was Thomas/Dumars V2.0

There's no way this is going to work which is why I want Crawford starting with Francis as the best 6th man in the league. Hopefully Crawford plays as great as he did last year...defending, good shot selection & taking the ball to the hole and drawing a ton of fouls. I'm telling you don't sleep on Jamal he's going to have a big year..he's due for one

I guess you and I are on the same page as far as Jamal is concern.

As much as I try to remember Marbury playiny d, all that I keep on remembering was when Marbury was trying to guard Gilbert Arenas. Arenas looked like he was going to drop 60 by halftime.

How about this game?

That was a good game for Marbury. I have no problems with Marbury getting 11 assists and 16 points. I think for some reason Marbury does play defense better on 2 guards compare to point guards.

nah man he gets torched by SG's. You're giving him too much credit. Defense is not his thing. never was never will be. As hard as you try you're not doing **** against a 6-6/6-7 SG

Jamal won't have a big year as long as Francis & Marbury are here dominating the ball... Isiah must trade 1 of those 2 & define the backcourt roles for the rest of the guards... the whole plan in getting Francis was to use him as a trade chip to get someone else... well, now that's probably not going to happen since his trade value is at an alltime low, so Isiah has to hope against logic that this tandem will work next year, at least in the first half of the season, so that he can unload 1 of them by the Allstar break.

Marbury guarding point guards is even worse. It might have something to do with Marbury's ankles.I watching Marbury play against Vince and he did alright and some other two guards. However, for some reason when a point guard like Mo Williams comes to town Marbury looks like he is going to die on the defensive end.

We're paying Jamal Crawford 7.2 million dollars this year to be a backup SG this year. Pathetic.

he's a third guard and a damn good one. if anyone's minutes suffer, it will be Nate's... especially if he plays out of control.

I'm not convinced Francis will be here come opening day.

After Francis and Marbury we are looking at about 26 minutes in the backcourt to split between Nate and Jamal. If one of those guys is playing great that means they will eat into the 35 minutes I was giving Steph and Stevie. Thankfully our atmosphere is so great that not one of these guys will complain about their roles.
I just hope that people will like me

NO pathetic is paying Allan Houston still 20 mil this year and he is not even on the team. Pathetic might be paying Malik Rose 6.5 and Mo Taylor 9 mil this year and they might not even play. Jamal atleast will be a contributor to wins. And if he is going to be the main guy bailing the team in end games it not pathetic compared to everyone else. Man, if you look at the salaries of everyone on this team Jamal might be under paid!

Oh, I'm not saying its a shot at Crawford, I'm saying its a shot at Zeke. Theres just too many guys on this team who are making too much money and the team isn't getting their moneys worth for that money.

I'm still hoping and praying that Jamals play at the end of last year wasn't another aberration.

It's pathetic. Jamal really became one of my favorite Knicks last year, for the sole reason that when everyone else gave up, he was there still busting his ass.

Here's the scary thing to me. All our guys have talent. If two guys are playing really well together they deserve to be on the court. So if Steph and Jamal hit a period of a few games where they are playing great together than that means STevie's minutes will be cut. They will become erratic. If Stevie and Jamal start playing well together than Nate and Steph's minutes will be cut and become sporadic. Their roles will change. Roles in our backcourt can change on a day to day, week to week basis because all are similar players and all have the ability to play 35+ minutes. Well last year we said that if your minutes are sporadic then that means it's okay not to play hard when you do get time. Does that stand for this year or does that line of thinking go away because LB isn't here anymore and everything is great now?

oh, okay. agreed then. as much as I like most of what Isiah has done, the pressence of Jalen Rose, Mo Taylor, Francis and Jerome James makes me sick to my stomach. I hope I don't have to look at them playing too much this season.

Francis has to go. The trade for Francis made no sense unless he was being brought in to replace Marbury, which never happened, or to be used in some other move down the line (which was speculated upon at the time of the trade).

Nothing against Francis; he can be an important piece on the right team, but I just don't see how he fits here.

I'm far more worried about Francis.
