Basically you put down every player who could get shifted into the PF spot, despite the fact that they may primarily play center. I mean, Lee is not a top-10 or maybe even top-20 guy... but he could be Troy Murphy-like..

and I think Jackie, QW, and Malik should constitute our primary reserves.

Hey Lee is a weird fit. He's a tweener. He's not gonna be really at home in either the 3 or 4 spot. But he's a glue guy and he gets things done. He doesn't always handle things in a one-on-one situation but he's a facilitator. He makes a difference. He's a guy you find a spot for.

Despite the fact Lee has good ballhandling skills and ambidexterous, he's too slow to play the 3.

He's definitely a 4 cause he plays around the basket.. A ferocious rebounder!!

Alot of forwards will shoot from th outside when Lee is covering them..

yeah yeah. Every guy who doesn't score enough or jump high enough has been boo'd from the garden for years. Then you end up with no role players, no leaders, no character guys, nobody to do the dirty work, etc.

Fine, lets move him out to make room for a flaky guy who's not mentally or physically tough, wont play for his coach and wants to showcase himself for his next contract. Why stop now...

Role players must be capable of making a layup (unless you have the uncanny rebounding ability of Dennis Rodman). Malik can't make a layup. He cannot shoot. And he hasn't shown defensive tenacity in any of the games I went or watched. What role does he play? An elf in dungeons and dragons? Cause he really hasn't helped the teams. As I recall, the +/-'s when he is on the floor are among the worst the team has...

Alot of sf's will be having a shootout, plus a block party with Jalen Rose guarding them too.

Can Lee really be worse than Jalen playing defense at the 3?

Many of the rebounds Lee got last season was because he was boxing out sf's. I don't think he will get boards like that at the 4 spot. This is in addition to Lee getting pound in and boxed out by many of the powerforward's in this league.

I don't see the Troy Murphy in Lee. Troy Murphy is a big body that has the ability to play powerforward and Center. Not to mention Murphy can take a serious pounding and still get a double double with the best in the East and West. Murphy passing is also not as good as Lee's. However if you are just talking about stat wise with the double double I see your point.

My point was pretty much the latter. Nobody is going to put Troy Murphy in the top-10 PFs in the league. But I would want him on my team. He finds ways to make contributions, despite being overmatched at his position on most nights. He can't handle Elton Brand or Jermaine O'neal or Amare Stoudemire, but he still gets his rebounds and he hits his open shots. Lee can finish on a break pretty well. I would say that while Lee doesn't have the big body Murphy has, he is more athletic. I am comparing Lee's performance to Murphy's--while over-matched by the top Bigs in the league, he will still contribute on the small things.

I see your points. It might work out either way for Lee. One thing is for sure I'm glad we have him on the team. As far as Troy, it would be nice to get a solid player like him and get rid of the Jerome James' of the world.
