When Isiah takes back a lot of money the typical response is:

"It ain't your money"

When it seems that Isiah isn't willing to spend a few million after wasting hundreds of millions the response is:

"We shouldn't overpay. We should make him earn it."

Usually he has taken money back because he is trading up in talent and the only way for him to do that at times has been taking on salary.

Jackie B is a very different scenario.

If not for Isiah taking a chance on this kid- every other GM could have done the same before us- we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

I think Isiah has done well with these reclamation projects. Even though Demar is no longer on our roster, he is in the NBA and a marginal contributor.

We spend MULTI-MILLIONS on the likes of Mo taylor, Jerome James, Malik Rose ---you know the list YET we are being cheap with Jackie Butler who has his whole career in front of him? We cant pony up 5 yrs 15mm or so? I mean were paying shanden andersen 16mm to play for the hEAT. Its OK to spend tens of millions on luxury taxes for players past their prime etc.. yet we get a little break with Jackie and we choose to act like this??? We're arse-backwards!

He is a restricted free agent. What is the point of putting up a contract before he negotiates one on his own?

there is something to say about getting a player under contract and playing within your system from day 1, participating in Summer League, moving forward, etc. (notice my play on words, Killa. Don't let it slip you up, I have nothing more to add).
ROFL!! Well in this case, when you say there is something to be said, there is actually something to be said, and that something reflects positively on management. you don't rush to overpay a guy, you learn from the Big Game.
