I don't think it's a bad move bringing Udoka back for another year at the league minimum. he showed he could contribute last year, and if he doesn't do well at all this year he can be cut at any time without affecting us much money wise. and this also does not keep us from signing butler, woods or both of them imo. u can cut guys like Mo Taylor to create roster space for someone.

see, I don't understand this. Marbury, Francis, Q, JRose, Nate, Crawfor, Collins, Balkman all can fill the SG/PG. And you think Udoka is a good idea to have around? At age 29 and just coming out of the CBA?
The Knicks have 1 roster spot left.
The upside of having Udoka is VERY slim. Almost negligible. The upside of keeping an expiring contract like MoT can be very nice around trade deadline time (1st rounder or filler for another piece).
Don't make sense to me.
Players are signed all the time for the league minimume to play for a team to get a look during the pre season. Many of them end up being cut. Picking up his minimum option doesn't mean he will be here when the regular season starts. Since they are cheap, its not going to affect you money wise very much if he's cut. And i also didn't say it was a great move, i just said it isn't bad.
and also, we have a glut of people at PF (Frye, Lee, Malik, and sometimes Balkman against smaller, faster teams like the suns.) Mo Taylor isn't going to play much, Isiah plans on setting a rotation of 9 or 10. we still get cap relief after the season. And Dolan doesn't seem to want more money on the payroll. also i wasn't singling out Mo, players like him meaning vets that don't play defense and will not play much, taking up a roster space.
