There are a bunch but here are the top choices.... My personal pick was the suspensions of 97... i remember being so absolutely FURIOUS about that because if elt like we were CHEATED out of our chance to have ewing face jordan with a real supporting cast, it was his best chance to beat him and we diddnt even get the chance to see it play out... my heart hates that moment forever... a close second was starks game 6 miss... i cried at that one ps if i get some of the spefics wrong in the poll my bad but us till know what moment im talking about
John Starks misses game winner Game 6 1994 NBA Finals
John Starks 2-18 Game 7 1994 Nba Finals
Reggie Miller 8 points in 18 seconds (back to back three's)
Ewing shatters his wrist vs Mil
Miami/NY Brawl in 1997 (suspensions)
Charles Smith game 5 layup blunders vs Chicago
The Patrick Ewing Trade
The Larry Brown Season 2005-2006

2 people voting for Larry Brown. Dang, some of you guys need a hug or something. We weren't even supposed to make the playoffs last season!

I think some people just hate Brown simply out of pure hate, with no particular reason at all. Some hated him before he even got started last season.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I'd vote, with hindsight, on Checketts and Riley leaving and Cablevision on Dolan taking over.

Painful was not King missing games, but watching it happen on TV. If not for King's injury, however, we would not have ended up with ewing.

We wouldn't have lost Cartwright either. Those two were awsome!

Riley leaving yes. Checketts leaving hell no. The biggest things Checketts ever did was get Riley and step back. He screwed that up too. Riley wanted Checketts gone and wanted total power. Unlike Larry Brown, Riley had 3 successful seasons under his belt to make his case. Dolan who just got on board sided with Checketts and Grunfeld, one of Dolan's biggest mistakes. Hell acquiring Allan Houston was Ewing. Houston never shuts up about that. Under Checketts and Grunfeld their biggest draft pick was Charlie Ward, enuff said.

At least Weiss did the courtesy of not playing for us and sucking... Balkman, however...

hahaha, just bustin' chops.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I'd add the 1995 playoff loss to Indiana when Ewing missed the layup to lose the series. For me, that was one of the worst, if not the worst, since the Knicks were probably still good enough to win that year, and there was no Jordan.

Jordan was already back. He just wasn't at full speed yet, and when he was, he went right back to taking care of us again.

I would have to say my most painful memory was the Knicks passing over Artest and taking Weis. I was a huge St. John's and Artest fan at that point, and that was just a tragic day.

The 8 in 18 and the Ewing missed layup were also tough days to be a Knicks fan.

Right, I had forgotten that Jordan had come back, but they were eliminated by Orlando, and as you said he wasn't full speed, making that probably the last real season we had to win. The Miami suspensions year was horrible, and Knick fans had good reason to think they could compete with the Bulls, but I think in '95 we had a better shot.

I wrote that vote in myself as well.

I have to go with Charles Smith's missed lay ups. I was at that game it seemed like time had stopped as he went up for each of those put back attempts. He was definetly hacked over the back from Pippen, fine time for the ref to find relegion. Leaving that game was like leaving a funeral.
Number 2 is the Miami brawl. I felt truly wronged.
