He's not the player we need.
We could use him, but I think we should be looking at a shooter, we don't have anyone who's specialty is shooting the rock.

To be honest...I'm happy.

Al Harrington is nothing to write home about here.

We have Frye for the future. I've never understood what the heck we need with Al.

Your right, we need shooting sorely, thats why I'm really up for getting Dunleavy, I think the Warriors have soured on him, he can shoot the ball with the best of them. I just look at the SG/SF positions and wonder how the hell the Knicks dont have ANYONE who can shoot the ball with consistancy.

No thanks to Al though, nice player but not for the Knicks right now.

You do realize that Dunleavy already signed a 5 year, $40+mill extension on his rookie contract-- exactly the kind of contract you say we should avoid-- don't you? So he's already got a Harrington-esque contract, but worse, he hasn't shown he can be half the player Harrington already is. Not that I want the Knicks to go get Al... just sayin'.

I know you guys equate yhe recent past with the future regardless of looking at the specifics, but not wanting Harrington is ridiculous. Put him beside Frye for the next 5 years & we'll do just fine.

beat me too it. No thanks to Dunleavy, we shouldn't be taking any bad contracts off of anyone's hands, especially for mediocre talent.

I think Dolan has decided not to spend any more money until he sees it's no longer going down the rat hole.

I don't mind taking someone like Dunleavy. If the Knicks only have Frye, Lee, and Dunleavy after the 2008 season then I got no problem becuase I think Dunleavy would be a nice piece. His contract isn't bad, I think he needs a change of scenery away from Golden State and he will be a very successful player.

Well for one, if we had Dunleavy we would finally have an outside shooter. I think it's about time we get one because Q is having problems shooting from the outside.

is Q "still" having problems?

checking out nba.com they both shot the same from downtown last year. a putrid 29 percent.

how about we try, just try to go with the team we have. Qrich and MDunleavy are almost identical except one can post up and play defense.

oh, he's the one we already have.

His contract isn't bad? It averages $9mill for 5 years. How much do you think Harrington is going to make? You'd really rather get Dunleavy for comparable money and years?

Thats what I say. I don't want ANY contracts running past the 08 season right now unless its Frye. I don't want ANY Free Agents being brought in before then. The Knicks need a overhaul and capspace is the way to go.

Harrington brings nothing to the Knicks that we are lacking. Dunleavy can shoot the ball, something the Knicks sorely need.

Edit: Also, Dunleavy is only signed through next year anyway.

No, Dunleavy has signed a huge 5 year extension. It only kicks in next year. He was a PPP last year, which shows he is on a rookie deal that has already been extended. Just like LBJ, Melo and Wade will all be PPP's this year.

Maybe we can sign Eric Snow to a 5 year, $44 million contract while we're at it. For perimeter defense, since we need it.
