Frye, Nate, Lee, Collins, Balkman, Curry, Crawford, Picks, Money. THey would be stupid to let him walk for free, reguardless of what you think would happen.

Edit: and the toothfairy is Real.

The required money would have to be somewhere near 16 million dollars. Their not going to screw their team up longterm, by taking someone like Curry or Crawford(who neither alone would bring the trade to 16mill) just to take something back for Lebron.

anji, you like isiah. you like the players on the team. that's fine and dandy but ultimately, it's all about wins/losses. you say lb was the reason we blew last year? fine. but it's the gm that hired him, so it's under his watch. so far, isiah's record as the knicks gm is atrocious, while amassing a mind boggling payroll. isiah has been an utter failure and this is his last shot.

I think isiah has done a fair job, but people get caught up in calling isiah the worst GM ever, which is falt out wrong. I don't care if he loses his job, but I like Frye, Nate, Lee, Collins and Balk. I like the up side on Curry and Crawford. The knicks didn't have that before he got here, there was no," just start these five players and cut the vets" a couple of years ago. NObody cares what the Hawks record is under Knight because they understand that while the wins aren't there, he is improving their future. That's the norm when people usually look over what's going on with a team. NOt so for Isiah, but I digress.

I like that he has done that and the team has some pieces going forward. I know the next GM will atlease have players that he wants or can use to get who he wants. Isiah didn't walk into AStoudimare or Nene and Artest and Mickaël Pietrus or Jarvis Hayes with Spreewell and Camby on the team. So the isiah bashing is wayyyyyy over done, minus the dead wiegh on the team, the cap is about where it has always been for the knicks. And where it will probably be until Cablevision is not more worried about making money.

Nobody would let LBJ walk for free. The nets didn't even let Kmart walk. They would sign and trade.

Really its up to the player and their willingness to take less money.

Steve Nash...ever heard of him? Ben Wallace...

Steven Nash and Ben wallace were not on there rookie contracts, what is your point?????

The Clipps let Lamar Odom walk. It does happen once in a while, but it's not easy to get the team to not match.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I think we fail to realize the NBA is full of stupid people in high positions, case in point nearly half of the NBA GMS have no idea what they are doing:

Lakers, Knicks, Raptors (terrible offseason so far Rasho, and Ford)Golden State, Philly, Atlanta, Portland, etc just awful

And that brings us to Cleveland and the most important questions lebron is asking himself right now are:

Can we can better: perhaps Shannon Brown, Daniel Gibson not much room for improvement

Can we make a trade to improve the team: Gooden is there only viable player they can move and he is not desirable around the league

Can we bring in free agents: NO they are locked into Larry Hughes, (Joe Johnson was the better option and would have been great and got the Cavs past the pistons) Damon Jones, Eric Snow, and Big Z no real trade value but very high salaries

So where are his weapons?

What is his legacy?

Duane Wade has a championship and he does not.......so why is clevland so desirable? They are not have no chance of winning an NBA title ever, and who really wants to live in Cleveland......

He is not going to LA, Kobe is there so why would he do that, Chicago will always be MJ's town........

And where is Isiah at fault: Jalen Rose not a problem......Jerome James should have got him fired right away on the books kills cap room, Francis is no good and is on the books and kills matters....if they can find a way to get those players out of there or even cut them in order to make things happen we do have some good pieces here......

Curry if he ever asserts himself will get a ton of easy penetration baskets and overpower people

Fyre is the perfect compliment to Lebron he can run the floor space things out and hit the jumper

Crawford is a great spot up shooter that usaully hits the open jumper when he sets himself and has time.....

Nate could be traded or a nice player off the bench to provide energy........

Lee running next to Lebron would be deadly, you could even play him a little at the center position or the pf position with the league turning into more of a finess game.....

So if Nike doubles his money by $100 million and his other endorsements are bumped up, ur looking at all the money possible he would have recieved from cleveland its a virtual wash

IF HE BRINGS A TITLE TO NY HE IS THE BIGGEST STAR IN THE WORLD; ITS NOT THAT FARFETCHED; HIS STAR WILL NEVER BE BRIGHTER AND HE"LL MAKE MORE MONEY HERE THAN ANY OTHER PLACE IN THE LEAGUE........

Do you think Cablevision wants those crowds???? Or do you think Layden and Isiah have been sweet talking the Knicks all these years into going for the brass ring every season?????

I know it probably has happened, but faced with letting a player of LBJ's caliber go for free or getting something for him, they would want something.

Im not saying he would say "I'm only going to NewYork", but if said the only place I would what to be traded is newyork or I'm walking after next season, they would do the trade.

The situation the article was talking about has Lebron taking the 1 year qualifying offer in 2007 and becoming an unrestricted FA in 2008. There is no difference.

What leverage did Shaq have to get to the Heat? He wasn't even a free agent. I don't think it will happen, but I do think IF Bron makes up his mind that it's gonna be NY and that Nike money, the teams involved will make it happen.

That's the point. For us to be successful we have to hope some superstar decides to take less than market value in order to play for us. Instead of building a team, getting in position to sign a free-agent by getting under or near the cap or getting in position to get a star by obtaining a high lottery pick. Get in position to trade for a star by obtaining players that make what they are worth. We do none of this. Instead we sit back and pray that some player decides that playing in NY is more important than getting market value and his team so afraid to lose him that they trade him for flawed players. I'm not saying it can't happen. I'm just saying it never really does.

I can't see the cavs trading lebron...they'd rather take the chance that bron is bluffing than suffer the backlash of having traded one of the best players ever. They would lose all credibility and fan support if they agree to a sign and trade - if they offer bron the max and he turns it down then they are the victims, in the public's eye there was nothing they could have done about it.

Letting, possibly, someone who has the potential to be one of the top 2 or 3 players of all time go, and getting nothing in return would be even worse.

Do you guys have any idea what type of trade offers will be out there if Cleveland puts Lebron on the market. Do you think we will be able to compete in terms of offers? I think it's a pipe dream. I think our team needs to focus on creating an atmosphere of winning instead of being a circus. And develop a future so that when these guys are available we can realistically go out and target them, instead of watching them go everywhere but here because all our players are drastically overpaid and noone wants them because of the circus that surrounds them.

I agree. Some team will get him if it's a sign-and-trade. It just won't be us. My bet is the Nets.

cavs could get any player in the league for lebron except probably dwade dwight howard types. the thing is, they wouldn't trade him outright - he'd force a trade, and then the cavs lose almost all leverage. still, the knicks don't have enough to get him. the clippers could give the cavs everyone on their team, including livingston, except brand, celts could give them pierce jefferson telfair - our rookies are good but none could net us lbj, if the cavs were to agree to trade him.

Lebron has stated he wants a billion dollars.

MOney is important to this cat.

He does not want sign and trade because it guts the team he is coming too.

Lebron in NY? Never happen!

Lebron in the borough of Brooklyn? Could be.

Except on realgm.com it says that Nets to Brooklyn MIGHT NOT HAPPEN. and earliest is 2010. New Jerz is NOT NYC, and playing in JERZ will not get lebron that DOUBLE NIKE money. He has to come to the NYC.
