frye's game is better suited for center. at pf, he will get abused as that is an elite position in the nba. he tries hard but his real advantage will be at the center spot as the day of the beefy centers are dwindling.
What the HELL are you talking about? Frye has a versatile game and will still be able to knock down jumpers. He may be 260 now, but that will come down a bit once the season starts and he's playing 35 a night. I just don't see him being "abused" as you put it. The top PF's will beat anyone so its not like he's gonna be the only guy who has trouble guarding them. You also seem to forget that he's a very capable scorer himself and they will have to try to stop him as well.
Really all this talk about beefy centers being extinct is silly. Guys like Curry will always warp a defense due to their mass. Everything bends in towards the center and that will only make things easier for the rest of the Knicks. The KEY is to keep the players moving. Don't have a static offense like LB wanted to run, where the defense sees the post up coming and can easily double down. The most successful plays came when the play wasn't focused inside and the guards drew defenders and then dished to a wide open Curry for a dunk or layup. There is a way to be successful with this lineup. LB just didn't bother to try and find it.
