How about this front page quote to replace the one by Charlie Ward?

I figure since that Ward comment is less relevant now and that in the post LB era, this was more appropriate, although I know Martin wont like this, I figure lets try to drum up some popular support for a quote from a player who we almost unanimously like and respect as a good kid. "If I told you to do something different every day at the newspaper or the TV station, how would it work out? But that was his coaching style and he made the decisions he made, and our record showed it." -Channing Frye
Yes, make it the new quote,
No keep the current quote.

It would be entertaining to see rotating throwback Oakley quotes. But I guess this will do, so I vote yes!

Ask and ye shall recieve...

"You got to know when enough's enough. You want to rob the bank, but you better not be complainin when you get caught. In my day, a guy who jumps that high with that many tatoos, he would've wound up sitting on the floor at least once. It's just the kind of player (Martin) is. And the kind of guy I am."

http://kshen.tripod.com/quote/index.html

Stumbled on this laugher.. He actually used the word garbage to describe other players

December 8, 2002- Oakley rips the Knicks... excerpt from New York Newsday:
"They've got some garbage. Point- blank," Oakley said. "They need to take four or five players out with the trash and dump them. You can't have a bunch of guys who are 6-5 and 6-6. I know the fans in New York. You can't fake out New Yorkers ... that you're going to get the job done. You've got to get to the playoffs, first round, second round."

The more I see Marbury dissed the better, since he doesn't take enough heat on this board.

I am a Knicks fan, true and blue.

“Get it up the floor, get into your offense without wasting seconds on the clock... That way, you’re never able to set your defense. We don’t want people to be able to set their defense on us. Even though we’ll be in a very structured situation, you won’t be able to come down and say `Okay, they’re getting ready to run this. . .’ We don’t want that.”

all season long, all i ever heard LB say was that he only demanded his players to play hard, play defense & play unselfish.

i guess that was way too much to demand of some guys.

that may have been larry's way to let the public know he has not given up on his dream.

reality check says larry's demands were unreasonable

Bobby - the sho nuf REAL reality check sez that Larry had some choice things to say in practice and from the bench that we will never be privledged to know or understand HOW they affected the men he was supposed to be molding into a team - the players

This kind of stuff can get out of hand very quickly. I think we should sheild the young players from getting into this kind of 'attitude'.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I voted yes. Because I do believe, like many others here, that the players who have been so postive and vocal as of late are really putting their butts on the line. Channing will be held accountable if he is still the confused deer in headlights defender that he looked like most of last year. So put the quote up, the players are here to play. Let's see 'em play with a players coach.

Yeah, but see what I'm saying, why would you want to put him on the spot like that? This is why I think it is better left alone and not get into this kind of stuff.
I'll never trust this' team again.

talk is talk and at some point you have to lead by example. so what does larry leadership teach ?

try 42 confusing rotations that really made sense while reinforcing larry's finer points.

it's ok so say the Knicks sucked cuz they quit on Brown.....but its not ok to say the Knicks sucked cuz Brown quit on the team?

All the players have said in so many words that Brown gave up on them from day one. The evidence is the 82 game season we all saw.....

Even after the season is over and Brown is no the coach....."the track record" is like the "ten commandents". Face it. Brown was trying to sabatoge the team to get the power he wanted. He was using "the track record" to get the power. All you Larry supporters fell for it.

All of us wanted Brown and expected progress but it's very telling that some still cling to this guy....even after all the evidence. The real "Track record" is the season that played out last season!!! Wake up!!!

I vote for this Quote, because it's like there is another team in the NBA. Because these guys are like Browns Fans the way Larry is defended.

And I love how the new matra of these guys is veiled hopes of failure so threats of retribution against Isiah, the team and the Youngens can enjoyed at seasons end . .It's really sad.

Cablevision is clearly paying people off to vote for the Frye quote. They will point to the quote on the front page on UK.com as evidence against Larry Brown in the pow-wow with David Stern. Therefore, the Frye quote should not be posted unless it receives 100 votes and makes the playoffs.

Hey crzy, I guess I never got around to it, but let me take the chance to apologize for so strongly criticizing your misgivings about Him going in to last season. I loved the signing at the time, but you were right and I was wrong. My bad.

Nice observation. But it is statistically flawed.

This is what playing the right way means....basic basketball. especially in todays game. Dallas is a prime example. They run down the court but they are just not doing anything they want....they are actually in their offense. That's why they were able to sore so quickly and effectively....you gotta puch tempo and be where you are supposed to. Guys are supposed to know here to be if this guy does this and so forth....this is the pro game not high school.

I love what I'm hearing so far since Isiah dumped brown. I don't believe in the PR bull****. I believe in what I think basketball is about and the guys are saying what I believe so I am with it. I just hope that they can show us something and put the meida out of business and wake up all the know it alls that are media zombies....

I wish you were right. I'd love to get paid big money from Dolan for voting what I believe anyway. Where do I sign up?

we are too busy making blame for either the GM or Coach and buying Jersey and tickets and beer and watching Cablevision to notice small things like the product we are essentially paying for.
