i wouldve given him this money @ 26 yrs old, not 29. hes not the same player he was 3 years ago with his various injuries.

I totally agree, I think they paid way too much for a guy in his age range, who is one dimensional, AND the hornets are not winning anything any time soon. I don't think its a good move for them, although obviously he will help them in the win column.

his age range? tell cuban about age range and tell nash to give back his mvps
Peja is not Nash. But my analysis still holds true. Hornets are a young team, why would they pay so much for a guy who is so much older than the rest of them? it doesn't make sense unless they think they are gonna really win big with him, and frankly I don't see that.

I would give Boris Diaw this type of contract--thats the type of player worth that money--23-24 years old--just entering prime time skills and body-wise. Should hold value through the contract. Burgeoning Superstar.

You would give Boris Diaw 12 million over 5 years? You are out of your mind. Diaw isn't worth anywhere near that kind of money.

If I had pick 1 this year I wouldve gladly handed it over for Diaw. If Phoenix would be so kind, Ill gladly send over big eddy for Diaw. Diaw is an absolute superstar in the making--of course hes going to get the max.

You are way higher on him than I am. I don't see superstar, I see good 2nd tier player. I guess we'll see.

peja is not nash after the fact of winning 2 mvps and dallas did not want to pay nash that kind of loot for his age, period. being a young team and paying a "older" player has no correlation. winning big you say, i say winning is good enough for a playoff run. yahoo news reports byron scott's main priority for getting peja was to open up west and paul's game. im glad to see teams like clippers and hornets going the extra dollar for proven talent.

Peja is definately not worth the money....I mean he wants to be there if he signed the contract but I has a "track record"() for being a big game/playoff choker. Not worth the money he got. They basicallt signed a complementary player star money.

Still without looking at the money....the pick up is good. They are putting together a very nice team. No GM is perfect but getting peja does make them a favorite to make the playoffs next season.
