Geez already guys!! Marcus Williams is a decent player but you all are acting like we passed on Magic Johnson!

Marcus Williams has several weaknesses: Defense, Shooting, and Character. That's right character. Everybody has been bitching about character and they want a guy who steals laptops while he is on his way to the NBA!!

M Williams is a slow, poor defense playing, poor shooting guard!

He has decent floor general skills, maybe he will be a good fit in New Jersey if he beats out Jacque Vaughn! They need a backup point, we do not!

Marcus Williams:

2003-2004 14.1 2.9 1.3 4.3 2.4 1.82 1.0 .1 1.8 .370 .692 .176 1.00
2004-2005 31.0 9.6 3.8 7.8 3.3 2.41 1.1 .3 1.7 .404 .719 .403 1.16
2005-2006 33.3 12.3 3.9 8.6 3.7 2.33 .9 .2 1.7 .407 .862 .400 1.39

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Marcus Williams is a nice college player. He is about the fifth best player on that team so he was able to operate more freely. He made some niceshots, I give him credit for that. He also shot a poor percentage. And those 3's he shot at .407 in college are 2's in the NBA.

I also saw Eugene Lawrence from St. Johns put him on lockdown and eat his lunch.

Mardy Collins looks to me more like shooting guard/short small forward in the NBA, who also happens to have smooth ball-handling skills.

Alot of people knocked Lee last year too. I don't know either player but based on IT's track record, they may work out. If they get 1 of them to contribute this year, they have done well.

you still don't pass up on a top 10 talent not for a role player you could've had at 29

Forget about who we drafted for a moment. If M Williams is really a top ten talent, how come the 19 teams before the Knicks passed on him?

Exactly, everyone wanted Isiah to take Chris Taft. IT made a better choice.

no idea and I could careless about what other teams do. Everyone who's watched Marcus play thought he was a lottery pick

C'mon, that's not a fair response. THere certainly must have been some reason Williams was passed upon. Was it a mistake? I think so, as I would have taken Marcus with the #20 pick, but there has to be some reason why.

Well I guess the other 19 teams never watched him play.

Or it could be that you are overrating Marcus Williams.

By the way, I've seen him play many times and he ain't no lotto pick, not even borderline. That's why he dropped to 22 in a weak draft.

Phoenix needed a backup PG and they elected to draft somebody else at 21.

Marcus William is a talent and they probably could have traded him. I just heard that the guy they got, Collins, was really liked by LB! LB had talked about him during the season and said that he was the best PG in college. So if IT knew he wanted Collins and was sure he could get him at 29 then why not pass on Williams. NY does not need 2 G's we all know that. Even 1 will be tough to get into the rotation.

Gomes worked out pretty well for the Celts. I'd like to see how Lee performs this year versus Gomes, with a coach/GM that might actually give him consistent minutes. I was impressed with Lee's performance. My point in raising Chris Taft is that he was the big potential prospect with serious character issues that dropped to the second round. AND much of the buzz on the board was that people wanted Taft over Lee... (I might have even been part of that 'buzz'). But Zeke made 3 solid choices. I want to see how these guys do.
