Congratulations on you disagreeing with most on his defense.

No need to be obnoxious.

His .24 blocks per game speak volumes. Those are Allan Houston numbers, but from a power forward? That's the league worst for any starter.

I never claimed he was a great defensive player, but to base your opinion on his blocks per game is faulty reasoning. Here's a guy we have been talking about recently: Charles Oakley. Do you agree that he was a very good defensive player?

Charles oakley career blocks per game: .30

Carlos boozer career blocks per game: .57

Again, Oakley was a very good defensive player, Boozer is not. However, Boozer is not as a bad as you make him out to be, he is about average. Did I mention that he is a well above average offensive player and an above average rebounder?
Then you see how he has trouble keeping his man in front of him. If not for Andre Kirilenko, who is superb, the Jazz would have a ton of defensive troubles. Even Sloan came out in the media to dis Boozer's defense. Now think that Boozer has trouble defensively playing next to an utter stud like Kirilenko. Now surround him with Curry, Frye, Marbury, Francis, etc... and watch our defensive woes multiply.

At some point you have to realize that 12 guys with 15+ point potential and 0 guys who play defense is not a good formula for success.

When are you guys gonna learn that rebounding is quite important? By the way, defensive rebounding is part of defense.

It's all about balance my man, and Boozer is a better defensive player than Eddie Curry.

Good thing or Bad thing that I agree with you fully about this? One of us is going to be rethinking our position now after this

I agree, the Knicks are NOT going to be able to thrive getting 12 rebounds a game from their starting frontcourt combined(Curry and Frye.) Rebounding is something that Carlos Boozer is very good at, especially offensively, and his defensive rebounding prowess would allow Frye and Curry to both be relieved of the added duty of grabbing many rebounds. If Curry and Frye don't have to grab as many rebounds then both of them have a better opportunity of beating their man down the court and getting setup under the hoop and scoring the ball. I'm not as worried about Boozers man to man defense, I think last year and the year before he was slowed by injuries which hampered his mobility. Hell even if he plays the same way he did last year and the year before, it wouldn't be any worse then our bigs play downlow to beginwith and I'll gladly take his rebounding and offensive edge for that.

Boozer would not only give the Knicks a big boost defensively, he would also give them a big boost offensively. God knows with all the guards that the Knicks have they are going to be taking alot of shots, which also means there are going to be alot of rebound attempts and the Knicks could sorely use someone gets dirty downlow on the offensive rebounding side and get those easy putbacks.

Frye and Curry aren't going to average 12 rebounds per first. Second the knicks out rebounded most teams they played. THird most starting front lines only give about 18 boards a game.

Boozer wouldn't be an difference maker on the team. He isn't good Defensively, so what is the point of getting him???? IF Lee plays 32 minutes a game he can give y0ou every Rebound Boozer does for about 11 million less. Boozer is nothing the knicks need.

would we take wally if the celtics took franchise?

I didn't read all the posts, was this proposed? AI is by far the best player in that bunch and it feels like a salary dump to me. (this could and very well may be completely off the subject..apologies, half way around the world again.

Frye is debatable, he just entered the league and will get better(I hope) Boozer has been in the league for quite some time so he is at his peak so to speak. Give these guys more court time together maybe they will develop some kind of chemistry and court synergy. They really didn't have much of a chance to experience this last season. Rebounding can be fixed. Dirk came into the league averaging a rebound every six minutes yet in the finals he averaged double figures in rebounds.
