Yep, IT is awesome, Knicks are great, and people only want him gone cause he is black. I wasnt even in this country or alive at the time of those comments, but apparently I only dislike IT cause he is black. Way to play the race card.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

So ridiculous. Isiah has been horrible at everything he's done with basketball off the court. He led extremely talented Pacers teams to the playoffs and lost in the first round 3 teams, he destroyed the CBA and now he's destroyed the Knicks. Yeah, you guys are right, we don't like Isiah becuase he is black. What a joke.

anyone who plays the race card in this instance is without a doubt the one who supports a man only because of his color imo

Dude, Larry Bird has nothing to do with the friggin Knicks and what Isiah's doing here now. I could care less what has Isiah has done away from basketball arenas. You are trying to make this more then it is by pulling these stupid ass Larry Bird-White America garbage. Isiah was a great basketball player, hes a terrible executive and he was a below average coach. Larry Bird plays no part in any of this but you are trying to give Isiah the pass and bring him into this discussion as a pass for Isiah. Open your eyes, look at Isiah's track record and then see where Larry Bird fits in.

Race Matters

Isiah does NOT deserve an ounce of any special consideration because of race. That's NOT how the "level playing field" of sports is supposed to work.

At the same time, his critics must work to separate their personal bias from the facts surrounding his career. The point of the thread points out the holes in his DESTROYING the CBA, which is pointed to frequently in the press.

As a player he was a champion. As a coach, he made the playoffs with one of the youngest teams in the league.

As an executive, his draft picks have been excellent.

As a Knicks Head Coach.... (no matter what failure people want to point to)

... we shall soon see.

which track record is valid though? The Title thread has a run down of a track record as proof....

Brown's track record is great....just ignore the bad points and realize that he finally won a championship after inheriting a 50 win team.

Larry Brid has said some borderline racist things through out his career....but there is not track record of this to post as proof.

I wonder what you guys think of Carl Lewis's track record? How about Micheal Johnson?

Misterearl, I don't care what Larry Bird did to Isiah Thomas or viceversa, first of all becuase I'm 23 years old and I'm not old enough to know what happened. 2nd of all, I wouldn't have cared because neither one of those guys are on the Knicks. You want to try and label me a racist because I think Isiah Thomas is a terrible executive? Fine be that way but just know your being one hell of a ****ing ignorant bastard at the same time.

I dont care who has what records. What the hell is wrong with you guys coming on here trying to find out what people think about black peoples records. I for one don't care who holds records and it seems pretty much like your all trying to get us to say something that would make myself and others racists. What the hell is wrong with you guys? Actually, I'm quite appalled.

its just that when you say "White America" it comes across sounding like you're talking about every white person in america when in reality anyone who dislikes Isiah because he is black is in the minority. There are so many reasons to despise Isiah off the court. From his antics towards not only bird but jordan as well to his driving organizations into the ground as an executive

You know...I think we should stay away from the race talk. It's never gonna end.....not to mention divide the board altogether. You guys annoy me enough....no need to plant the racism tag next to anyones name.

It's what I'm talking about in my last post.....just because you are 23 doesn't mean that racism doesn't exist or never happened. I just caution you guys to leave it alone. I know we are just talking about basketball and Isiah, still......just lock this thread and leave it alone.

yeah if there's one thing I've learned its don't waste waste your time arguing with someone on the forum because they will twist everything you say and it ultimately leads to nothing but remember this wouldn't have started if someone didn't mention "White America" I would've just ignored it so I agree with you

Earl. This is the last post I make about this subject because I agree with Spree, it's never going to end. But I'll be friggen damned if you are going to stand here and plant me as someone who dislikes Isiah Thomas because of his race. I think that is beyond ignorant and extremely childish on your part.

And just for clarification, this isn't a opinion that differed from mine, you tried to get me to say things that you thought I might have thought, and you know what thats just not right. You kept up with the posts about including me and others in hating Isiah Thomas because I'm part of White-America and that somehow made you feel better about your stance of Isiah Thomas. This is a Knicks forum, not some garbage your trying to make it. As I said before, Spree is right and this is my last post on the matter. Isiah still sucks.

didn't read it and don't plan on reading it while watching the World Cup. I really could careless what happened 25yrs ago. My criticism of Isiah is strictly based on what he has done to our team. I was as much a Isiah supporter as anyone when he got here. But after adding all this payroll and most annoying of all, trading all our lottery picks I just can't trust the guy anymore.
