So do we conclude that Brown wanted Rose, not Francis, and therefore we can expect Rose to get traded and Francis to stay?

I seem to remember Isiah talking ad nasuem about Francis/Marbury being the next Earl the Pearl/Clyde backcourt, or at least similar to Isiah/Dumars. That's why I don't think Isiah is going to trade Francis at least.

Are you sure about that? I thought they didn't get along well in Indiana because Jalen wanted to play the point and Isiah didn't want him to. There may have been some media rumors about him later wanting Jalen, but it's hard to make much out of rumors, esp. from the NY papers.

I am absolutely, positively, 100% sure. I remember, as I said before a three team trade that was worked out with NY, Tor, and one other team where Penny went to Toronto and Jalen came to NY..maybe it was just for his contract..I wish I taped the game, it was a rumour first reported on TNT by Ernie Johnson.

Interesting. Was that before Larry was here? Maybe both of them wanted Jalen then.

Before Larry, Lenny was the coach I think. I also think Larry wanted Jalen because he could pass and play a point forward position because he obviously didn't think Steph could do it(by that I mean initiate the offense)-and he put Jalen's defensive deficiencies because of it. And I think that may have been why Larry "begged" for him.

However if Isiah presented LB with a situation that he could acquire player B(who Larry doesn't like) or Jalen, and player B was the more likely trade, and LB "begged" Isiah to get Jalen instead.....just a theory about something we will all never find out about.
