Mck1, I have to be the knick fan police on you and point out Pacer Managements direct contradiction of what you are saying...I would post the links, but go to the home page of ultimateknicks in the right column. You'll see nothing but good things about isiah's coaching ability.

So to even post this is total...CRAP!

Thomas' coaching style according to Pacers fans
he is player friendly and backs them
he tries to develop them
his rotations and line-ups were unsettled
he doesn't install any discipline

I read what Walsh said.

"he's no Larry Brown"

rv, from what I have read everywhere McK1 is right on. If you are going to disagree with someone try what Blue is doing and post some evidence.

I did. Pulling the "he's no larry brown" quote did not contradict that they mentioned he was a great coach.

Was the direction to the front page of ultimateknicks right column links not evidence?

What exactly is your point?

What word?

Does this count:
http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/pace_maker_knicks_fred_kerber_and_marc_berman.htm
"He's very good with Xs and Os, further along with that kind of thing than people think," Pacers CEO/President Donnie Walsh told The Post. "He's very creative with the way he approaches offense and defense."
OR
"He had three years of experience and he went to the playoffs all three years and he probably learned what worked and what won't," said Walsh, who forecasts a decidedly up-tempo tenor for the Knicks. "He came up with a running offense in the second or third year. It was his thing, but he's not Larry [Brown, experience-wise]. And he wasn't a figurehead type of coach."
Notice, Mck1 conveniently left out hte part about him speaking about experience-wise in him not being larry brown, but hey, suddenly he's your best friend martin, so he gets a pass on that and only I get nit picked.
Or how about this one from reggie miller (a non knick fan)
"My years playing with Isiah were fantastic," said Miller, who did wonder about some of Thomas' personnel moves with the Knicks. "He was an excellent coach. He was a fabulous Xs and Os coach. Is he the next best thing (to Brown)? That remains to be seen.
Is that enough for you, I still haven't seen mck1's back up, but hey, you already researched his opinion and have come to the conclusion that he is right, but ignore the front page links of your own site to attack me.

What's up with you dogging me for no reason?

I have more respect for donnie walsh and reggie miller than fan 1,503 on a indiana pacer site.

But hey, that's just me.

Who's opinion do you value?

Its like when asking someone: "is he smart?" and reply " well he's no rocket scientist!".

Walsh is not going to diss Isiah by saying he sucks, but he's not exactly endorsing his ability either. Walsh had both back to back.

Time to move on and see what Isiah can do. He's no "einstein", but few are anyway.

Mediocrity will make us happy. Yeah.

how do any of your quotes disprove he was unsettled on a rotation or that he did infact instill discipline in that Pacer's lockerroom?

hoss you're the one nit-picking.

ne'er once did I say Isiah stood there with a icecream cone and a stopwatch and whistled the tune to Mash

Mediocrity will make us happy. Yeah.

I don't understand Nalod, was this team going to jump from unbelievably bad to extremely good under LB without being mediocre somewhere along the way?

I for one will be much happier with a mediocre team than an awful team that wishes it were mediocre. Whoever is coaching.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I agree with John Andariese...

John Andariese believes that Thomas will succeed.

Oh, he's not some random message board posting fan, he's a company man, but still, he makes sense and his points are exremely neutral (except for not bashing dolan, but he did mention it's his team and he can do what he wants)

Now, I don't expect and I don't think anybody would expect the Knicks to double their win total to 46 games next year. But I think what's going to be expected and expressed within any future wins will be noticeable improvement.

one thing is good.. for better or for worse we will find out the truth. No more fans bitching about rotations or 3 year plans or play calling or anything. The guy that traded for EVERY SINGLE PLAYER on this roster is now the coach, so we will see the plan indeed.

I'm most interested in how he will utilize Big Game JAAAAAAAMES.

me too. we got him before we got frye and curry, so I'm not that interested in terms of how it will benefit the knicks, but just for ultimateKnicks fodder, I'm interested.

No time for Nate, little time for lee if Q splits time at the SF with Rose and at SG with Francis. The frontcourt is experience light but I have no doubt that if JJ pretends he's in a contract year, Zeke will play him a lionshare of minutes.

Disagree about Nate. I think he may be helped more than anyone on the team(except Marbury) with Isiah taking over as coach. I think Zeke is going to play him alot more and he responds.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

John Andrraise is very nuetral, he bashed Marbury after that game in Orlando. John knows his stuff and I hope he's right, theres nothing more that I want then to see this team succeed. I'm just pessismistic about it happening with the current roster. Prove me wrong Isiah!

Johnny Hoops is also a paid MSG employee, which means that article was censored beyond belief. Aside from being a clueless turd about basketball, this is one of my other big Dolan gripes. Anything posted on MSG's site has to be taken with a grain of salt. Ask Marv what happens if you disagree.
