I only do that trade for Francis. Marbury is still a very good player. I want expirings or Kidd for marbury.

Ricky is a better player then Steve? lmao!

since when?

i'd take Ricky Davis over Francis anyday of the week... i've always liked Ricky Davis & thought he was very underrated by the posters on this forum... the guy is athletic as hell, can shoot the ball, he's quick off the dribble, a great finisher in transition, & he plays defense, something Francis doesn't know the meaning of... Francis is probably a more explosive scorer than Ricky, but overall i'd take Ricky Davis w/his superior size, defensive ability & ability to play off others rather than having to dominate the ball like Stevie does to be successful...
neither 1 of these guys are the smartest guys you'll ever meet anyway in terms of basketball IQ, so there's no real advantage either way in that department.

if its as most say the players weren't given a chance from day 1, how can folk condemn Jalen and Steve's performance when they came into the asylum mid-season

Marko Jaric has 5 years, $35M left on his contract. I'll pass.

Ricky Davis is very talented but he comes from the same mold as Steve Francis. He's another one of those selfish me-first cancer players. These are the type of players this franchise needs to stay away from.

The last two years, Steve hasn't done one thing better than Ricky other than form queer attachments to male teammates like Cat.

the first half of the 04-05 season, Steve was playing at an all NBA level.

the star power of NYC may be enough to help him get over his depression. the last 2 months of this past season is too tainted a sample to judge him.

Ricky is no leader and is definitely no walk in the park for coaching staffs or other teammates. At least we know Steve knows how to male bond

I think Ricky gets a bad rap....he was a retard no doubt but I think he is understanding how to be a pro. His last days in Boston he was great. I dunno why Danny felt Wally would be better. Pierce and Davis were a good tandem. It was the rest of the team that was the problem in Boston.

Still guys we'd be lucky to get Ricky Davis back in any trade....but where does he fit? Ricky can play the 3 but he's not a three, he is a 2. Knicks still have Q-Rich. If the Knicks didn't have Q-rich then trying to get Ricky Davis as a super sub or possible starter next to Marbs would be like getting Sprewell. Ricky Davis is a very good player don't get that twisted.

But don't forget, Marbury averaged 20&8 during that time, so what's the problem?

dont you love it a knick fan saying a 5 yr 35 mm $ contract ----that we would have to swap off $$$$$ of our OUTRAGEOUSLY overpaid ROSTER and he's to much.

Yeah Im sure there are teams out there willing to give up ending contracts and picks for our guys
my bet is this organization is going to stinbk for a long time. we take chanes on the absurd, yet if we had a chance at a tyrus Thomas Marcus Williams Rudy gay Adam Morrison, its better to keep Francis and his 60mm although he will create tension on an overstuffed roster just so we can stay away from a contract that has to offset it from the other teams perspective. the team management and many of knick fans just live in fantasy world, and they think they are better than they are. I just dont think we have the kind of innovative--creative minds that we need to succeed.

when we trade for steve i was hoping for a scenario where we could get a high pick hes worth crp to us, we have marbury who really is a duplicate in many wyas you cant have 2 of the same guys making the max

that is why I think Francis may be here when it is all said and done. Francis was IT's move, insurance for steph, francis when playing in his right frame of mind is a borderline elite type talent on the floor. Scoring, rebounding and finishing big...

Why would Isiah get insurance for Marbury????? Who gets "insurance" for players and it means the same exact player making the same exact amount??? Don't sound koshier to me.

In the wacky world, we call MSG, this makes sense to them..... Somehow, either IT is stacking chips for a trade or francis is here, just incase brown won the power struggle and marbs had to go... why should IT care, francis is expensive insurance, but again, his boss is a money wasting idiot...

IFwe were to get Ricky Davis back in a deal that sent either Marbury or Francis to Minny, just getting rid of one of those guys helps balance out the ball park. Davis would be a starter on this squad at either the 2 or 3. Extra parts like Craw & Q are bench backing the 2/3 spots- and then we can live with Nate seeing spot duty as PG if he can handle it

don't get it confused... people who would prefer Ricky Davis to Francis are considering several different factors here, the size difference, role he would play, defensive ability & obviously the comparative contract situations of both players... no one's saying Ricky's a better player than Stevie... but i think it's clear that Steve has no function or role on this team, & a guy like Ricky can play OFF the ball & flourish, something Stevie has yet to prove he can do in the NBA... he's the type of player that needs to dominate the ball to be successful, & we already have a guy like that who doesn't look to be going anywhere anytime soon.
